Fearlessly Courageous

Hold onto me, Lord.
That’s my simple prayer today. Lord hold onto me and never let go.
Have you ever had those times when you wonder about your future? Security?
How you can put another successful year together…even though it’s so early in the year? It’s like this funk on a dreary rainy weekend…
when I’m running in doubt and questioning everything.
What do you do in those moments?
And I prayed a simple prayer…Hold on to me when I seem at that bend in the road that may be a dead end Hold on to me my God that never changes.
I need you truly.
And as I sit and ruminate about this anxiety… what bubbles up are these old faithful pieces of scripture. Our Father who art in heaven… The Lord is my Shephard. Ps 23 and my feelings seem to fade as the faith of His promises rise as I dwell on them.
What is it for you? How long do you sit in that pool of regret or loneliness, or anxiety,
or that doldrum of just feeling sorry for yourself?
I will stand my ground where hope can be found.
When I’m missing something…I visualize that hope in Jesus and right then,
it creeps back in. Just enough faith to give me a little hope…a little oxygen to believe just a little more. And the more I dwell on His hope, the more I am drawn by His word to read it. Like pulling out a prescription that brought me back to health in the past. And I just seem to know again…He is with me. I may still have that broken body or that financial mountain I am facing, or be in that relationship that has been hurting me. But I can believe again that he is with me.
That He is in it…not that he is causing the harm but that He wants me to learn from it.
He wants me to walk in the light of what He left me.
Col 1: 16 says, “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist”. What does that mean to you? The theme of this entire book is about the sufficiency and the supremacy of Christ.
Whatever is happening to you…your answer is… In Him…
Our response should be for him…Our Hope should be in Him.
Anytime we take our focus off of Christ…Off the real light…
We move into darker days away from the truth.
Jesus is sovereign, what hope can there be without him?
He keeps showing up for us. He keeps loving the unlovable and the unlovable in me.
Is 43:16 Thus says the LORD, Who makes a way through the sea And a path through the mighty waters… Isaiah reminded them of the dead end of the Red Sea. There was no hope there outside of God himself.
God Will Make a Way.
How often does he ask us to just surrender that which burdens us? Frightens you? Fills you with uncertainty and fear and he says just give up this thing out of your control and surrender it to the one who controls it all.
Trust me. Give it to me. Entrust it to Jesus and I will be there with you.
I WILL Hold you in it…See you through it!
Hold on to me…Draw near to me!…
Enter into my peace and protection for I am in you and with you.
I will do it again… I will make a way for you… For you! Watch me and don’t let your eyes, your thoughts, or your feelings draw you away from my word.
Hold onto me!
