How Jesus Knew

One of the more critical issues when reading any Christian documents such as books or articles, stories such as testimonies, especially ‘Thesis of Theology,’ it first must be established to whom these words pertain or to whom they are being addressed. Such was the case when the Apostles wrote their letters; they established that it was written for and to the true “Believers, the Church, the Elect, the Sanctified in Christ, “To the Saint and the Faithful”  those then present and those to whom the Gospel of Jesus would be preached and received until the end of the Age.

The same way we find ourselves in the scriptures is the same manner Jesus saw himself.  So, as we look deeper into the Church’s Epistles, the Believer in the NT sees themselves as God Sees them; it’s the same way Jesus found who He was in the OT.

Heb 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels, but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17 Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Please permit me to explain who a true Believer is. First and foremost, it is one who has had an experience with God, such as the words Jesus spoke, “You Must be Born Again from above.” John 3:3.

Those who say they are Christians, by words only or by filling in the blanks of an application handed to them to write on, are not absolute. Nor is it one who has joined any particular Church or been a member for a certain period; no, it’s much more than that. It is an absolute event that other men may have assisted you with or ones who may have perhaps been all alone when it occurred. Nevertheless, it did take place, and it was an unforgettable moment. Especially when Jesus is the one who said, “You must or Unless you are!” One may even be fully persuaded that Jesus is the Son of God, but without this “Born from Above” event, it’s an empty statement.

We want to establish this principle first and foremost because the readers must understand that what was written was for our sake, as the scriptures confirm. So, when you read them, you may know that God is speaking to you as He spoke to them and the Father spoke to Jesus.

Heb. 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest.

The scriptures are mainly for the Born-Again Believers; thus, the addresses are To the Church, To the Churches, and the Saints, To him, that hath an ear.

1 John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is Born of God: and everyone that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of Him.

The Apostle John goes on to say that there is a true manifestation of the event taking place: sin ceases to control your life and actions.

1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is Born of God sinneth not, but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

Many authors never address this issue when presenting their “Introduction” in their books. Many assume that a Christian will purchase their books and neglect to clarify that “You must be Born Again.” By failing to make this very clear in their works of literature, the Church begins to appear as “Carnal Christians.”

This is why Jesus knew He was different at a very early age, and the Father bore witness to His Spirit and Soul. This is the beginning of knowing who you are with Divine Certainty.  What does it truly mean to be Born of the Father?

What was happening to the Hebrews in the OT was always on the outside of them.  They followed the Commandments and Laws through their rituals.  Yet God wanted the Laws and Commandments inside them, in their “Hearts!”  Therefore, for that to occur it had to be in their “Begotten Spirit!”

Deut. 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart.

This one verse was one of the main verses that Jesus found within him.  The Law was always speaking to him, to his Heart.  His Spirit, the Son of God, spoke to his Son of Man, His Soul.  This is how our New Spirit speaks to us; Jesus was the Living, Breathing New Song, The New Testament!  The Holy Spirit anoints our Souls to obey the inner Voice, and when we believe, the Spirit changes our hearts from one Glory to another level of Glory, from faith to faith, for the Just shall live by faith.  This is how Jesus grew!
