How to Mature in Christ
Has any Christian since Jesus ascended to our Father, ever come to the measure and stature of the fullness of Christ unto a Perfect Man?
Eph. 4:11 And he gave some, Apostles; and some, Prophets; and some, Evangelists;
and some, Pastors and Teachers.
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the Faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a Perfect Man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
And why are the Christian Churches failing to bring this vision and revelation to the Sunday stages they preach on? Perfection is not some strange doctrine in the Bible. Even in the OT, perfection was given to several characters in the Bible. And some things that were done were given credit as being perfect. Perfect and perfection are mentioned 105 times in both the New and Old Testament.
In the NT alone, there are 43 times.
Deut. 18:13 Thou shalt be Perfect with the LORD thy God.
Suppose Christian ministers and those being prepared in Christian Schools of higher learning were aware that anyone who was moving in “Righteousness” was considered Perfect in the Eyes and Heart of God. And if anyone did exactly what God told them, they were perfect because they heard God’s Voice, received Faith, spoke it into being, and received “Righteousness!”
Gen. 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Gen. 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me and be thou perfect.
2Sam. 22:33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way Perfect.
1Ki. 8:61 Let your heart, therefore, be Perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
Even in the OT, perfection was imputed to them. How much more have they who have received a perfect Priest, Jesus, a perfect sacrifice?
So, the mandate to those who are called to the Five Gifted Ministries (Eph. 4: 11) is to bring the Body of Christ to perfection/maturity. If the Ministries are retaining members just to have an audience as babes, they are failing. If the Ministries are raising the Church members to evangelize to enroll more members and they are not maturing, they are failing. How can anyone be a witness of Christ when they haven’t experienced the great and exceeding promises of having God’s divine nature so as to escape the corruption that is in the world?
Rom. 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
So, what does it take to mature in Christ? The hope is that every Christian realizes that it’s Christ in me is what the whole of creation is waiting for. But it’s more than saying Jesus is in me! If you realize it to the point that your life is also Christ Jesus’ life. That you/we are one with Him and the Father. To live that daily is first to Believe it with all of your HEART, SOUL, and MIND. “For the Just shall live by Faith!” And without Faith, it’s impossible to please Him.
Gal. 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the Faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Simply believe what Jesus believes, and agree with your Lord.
When do we start? “Today, if you hear His Voice, harden not your heart and enter into His rest!
Rom. 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now, if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
