Only Use the Good Notes.

I heard someone says in a movie that they only used the good notes in the music they composed for them. What? That’s kind of what my friend Bill Morris always says, you should only use good words when you’re talking to people. Why? Because our words make music and illicit a host of emotions and reactions. Some will make you feel happy, or feel sad…some will keep you in suspense or make you feel your worth and dignity. Good words, make us feel appreciated, loved, admired, and respected. Just, by only using the good words. Who needs those other ones? My wife is always saying… Really? Isn’t there a better word to describe that? Isn’t there an uplifting way to express that same sentiment? Can’t you give that negative, a sliver of hope, a ray of possibility, or a glimmer of grace?

Genesis 1:2 says “And the earth was without form and void” In the darkest abyss the universe has ever seen… He set the example…. He spoke these words. “Let there be light”. I would say those were good words! Right? Let there be good in the universe…in the heavens and earth and the sea and goodness in every mammal, every man, and when he had finished his creation he said it was good. All good. All God. And he only used the good words
So when you are out today in the darkness of this world. In the middle of the cesspools of words, thoughts, perversion, and blatant darkness and sin. Do as God did. He spoke only the good words…”Let there be light. Let there be love and kindness, gentleness. mercy, grace forgiveness, and truth

Be that light… speak that light. Those words…that truth that began at the beginning of time from the heart of the only true god who poured out his love for all to share. He said let there be light. And he only used the good rays. The good notes and the good words. Go and do likewise.

Bill Morris’s program called “I AM” says these are two life-changing words, BECAUSE, what you put after them shapes your identity. Can I share with you one of the lessons he taught me on speaking life…speaking the good words into my life? I have shared them with you before but they bear repeating.
They are about Self Talk…and Self-thought.
They both define who we are and what we will become. Our words shape us, direct us, empower us, motivate us… Using the good notes/words OR the bad words. Let me share with you who I decided to be that day as I sat under his wise tutorage.
They are called:
“I AM” SUCCESSFUL FOCUS POINTS:

  1. I AM God, work & play balanced
  2. I AM focused & organized
  3. I AM a Praiser & uplifter of others
  4. I AM how I think – Act- Say and Do
  5. I AM a wisdom & knowledge driven person
  6. I offer clarity of choice not give directions
  7. I AM accountable to someone.
  8. I AM a giver & tither
  9. I AM God’s temple, and I AM what I eat!
  10. I AM Financially Successful
  11. I AM first a seeker of God’s Will
  12. I Am internally and eternally controlled.

I speak them out loud to myself regularly. Words have power! You must know that!
I need to tell myself who I am, and speak out the dynamics power in each short phrase.

Ephesians 4:29, GNT says: “Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that builds up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you”. We also hear ourselves.

There will be opposition. The world will test you and attempt to pull you into its madness and vulgarity. You must Choose! If there is to be any understanding of God’s revelation, we depend on words, in their most literal sense. So may I encourage you to make a change and realize your words change your life in a very dramatic way. Choose Life.
Don’t just talk to others with positive and uplifting words speak to yourself.
Speak life to you. But only use the good words!
You are beautiful and wonderfully made.
