Part II Facing Your Giants
I started a fight yesterday. I spoke to you about picking up a warrior’s attitude and joining with me and others in your community to take a stand against those things that are clearly slowing you down. Obstructing your path to holiness before our God. I did not want to give you this one-off cry for help; this lesson is about focusing on God, in the spirit, not in our flesh or our will, but in God.
Let us take up the Sword of the Spirit and Fight in one Spirit!
I wanted some scriptures to empower us in these days until we turn the tide of this battle. Until that mountain you are facing is cast into the sea. Until you can stand at the base of this obstruction and declare what God says, even though the mountain is still visible,
still a struggle, still trying to take you down!
How many times have you been in a one-day battle? Physical and Spiritual battles, most of the time, are just that. Battles. We have to be committed to resisting these attacks. Taking every thought captive is a battle when we have too freely allowed them access and camped our privileges in our thoughts. (2 Cor 10:5) It is time to declare to Satan that we are in this to win it. However long it takes. We need to pull down these strongholds we have allowed to be built within us. If we are to truly take this fight seriously, then we have to make our “Warrior Spirit Prayers” a serious assault on his strongholds.
So let’s begin, in the spirit, on this second day, with a continued attitude of war in the Spirit.
Look at what Goliath said to David, “Did you come to chase me away like a dog?” Then Goliath used the names of his gods to say curses against David. He said to David, “Come here, and I’ll feed your body to the birds and wild animals.”
This young teenager, SPEAKING OUT LOUDLY said in 1 Samuel 17:36-37, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day, the LORD will hand you over to me, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head.”
David was not moved by what I saw. “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 cor 4:18 He is clearly instructing us to stay focused on the unseen, on what God says, eternal realities, rather than being swayed by the temporary obstruction, in the visible world. God is Spirit, and it is past time that we pick up the mantle of his power, of His grace, and speak to your Giants. Take authority in the spirit regardless of what those bill collectors are saying, regardless of the dark side of your checkbook, regardless of this plaguing thorn of health in your side. He is saying, today and every day. STOP being moved by what you see. It’s temporary. He is saying I have something for you in the midst of your storm and your challenge. I have for you everything you need right now! Reach out, ask for it, and take it from my outstretched hand.
I WILL SEE YOU THROUGH THIS! TRUST IN MY PROMISES AND
ALLOW PERSERVERENCE TO COMPLETE ITS WORK IN YOU.
KNOW THAT ONLY I CAN PROVIDE CALM AND PEACE IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM.
I have not just given you a lifeline…I have given you life AND the power to walk in my name…
in my promises…in my grace. My children, as heirs to my kingdom,
enter into my presence and accept the love and protection of your loving father.
HEED my words! Today and at every moment of distraction and temptation!
Put these scriptures in your phone and every time you feel the attack to drag you back into the pits of discouragement and doubt. Read them!
They are my promises for you! Personalize them to your situation.
It’s called praying the scriptures.
- Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; (In this situation. Name it.) be not discouraged, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
- Philippians 4:13:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Satan, you have no authority over me. I command you in Jesus’ name to take your hands off this situation. Name it!
- Joshua 1:9:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
I WILL STAND ON YOUR WORD, LORD. I WILL NOT BE MOVED BY WHAT I SEE. I WILL TRUST IN YOU ALONE. I SEE THE VICTORY BEFORE ME!
- James 4:7:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Satan, depart from me. Get thee behind me. I am the Lords and will only bow to his promises.
- Ephesians 6:10-12:
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities, powers, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
- John 16:33:
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” I receive your peace, Lord. I humble myself and ask your forgiveness for doubting you, for falling back to my old fears. I will keep my focus on your words and walk in confidence, as your word cannot return void!
- 1 Peter 5:8-9:
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.”
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” He is telling us that he has our backs.
His promise is His unwavering support and protection. But we must walk in the spirit to win this battle.
It is not by might, it is not by power but by MY spirit saith the Lord. Zech 4:6
God was telling Zerubbabel, the leader of the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem,
that the completion of the temple will not be accomplished by human might or power, but by God’s Spirit, divine power, and God’s guidance.
It is quite clear that the success we seek will only come from relying on the power of God’s spirit,
not our abilities.
Surrender your mountain to the will of God and completely trust in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Make a list of your specific giants, and start speaking life and change into them every day until they are defeated. Be accountable to someone as they pray with you. Stop walking alone.
