Sunday’s Prophesy – The difference between a prophetic word and a Prophet.
I love corporate worship. I love it when the Holy Spirit talks to me.
I believe the scriptures tell us that all of us can be prophetic at times while
others are called to have that gift. 1 Cor 12: The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 14 that everyone is given a gift and some can prophesy. I believe that when people draw close to God
we overflow in His love and wisdom and we share that with others.
At times God can give them a word for someone else. It may not be their specific gift,
but God uses us to talk to others when we talk with God. So by nature, with that fact, everyone is and can be prophetic, but there is a difference between those who are prophetic and a prophet.
What you hear from me is the prophetic gift God gave to me.
But it is not something that I can just dial up or happen when I will it. I believe there is an anointing that goes with that. But I am NOT a prophet. I cannot tell you what will happen tomorrow.
In fact, there have been times that I have felt the lord has directed me in a certain way,
that I missed HORRIBLY!
I believe the calling of being a prophet is a unique and special calling from God.
I don’t believe they are one-hit wonders. Prophets are people who are tested and whose words have come to pass. I am not that person, but the Holy Spirit talks to me and encourages me and at times reproofs me. Prophecy edifies and benefits the church, and is for our strengthening, encouraging, and comforting (1 Corinthians 14:4). This has nothing to do with predicting the future. Paul even describes it occurring during a worship service. I cannot tell you how many times his words have given me hope, or revealed a deeper truth to me. Prophecy in short is communicating with God. We are told in this chapter to desire to be given a spiritual gift by God. Have you sought them and prayed for them?
I read that, “prophecy today is the Holy-Spirit-empowered ability to speak God’s Word—truth—into a situation, calling them to turn back to God, warning of the consequences of not doing so, and reminding people of God’s promises and of His justice and judgment”.
SUNDAYS PROPHECY
“There is a season for everything. Your last season is not this season. Don’t miss it. You’ll be required to step into deeper waters. Step up to take the higher ground. I promised this to you. Your life is not on repeat. The river flows one way, you will need to fight the current of this world
and swim and persevere upstream.
Don’t be left in the status quo. It is a new season. I have prepared you for the now of your life. Proclaim it. Shout it out. Declare my power and glory and let it be the light of the land of promise, I have ordained before you. I have promised you the ground. Take it. The last season has prepared you to receive it. Step into it. Believe in faith for your breakthrough. if you can see it, it isn’t by faith. Faith is the evidence of what is not seen. You will receive it by faith. I will give it to you. Fight for it. Pray for it. And join with others and unite your faith and see my power explode into a new season of promise. A new season of new fruit. Come and see the AWE of my spirit. It is not for them. It is for you.
You are in a new season. Usher it in!.
What is this saying to you? Read it and Read it again until it comes alive in your life. This gift of prophecy…this word of prophecy is to build us up, to encourage and comfort others. I believe I was meant to speak this word to others. Does it have a special meaning to me. YES. But there is healing and encouragement here for many others too. So humble yourselves before God. Draw near to him.
What is this word saying to you specifically? Write it down. Make it part of your new season.
Remind God of His promise. Join with a brother or sister and unite together for your breakthrough.
His promise is – This is a New Season! Declare it over your life.
Would you share with me what this word has said to you? Read it until it speaks to you. It will. I would like to know how it has caused you to change your thinking or do something progressive with God. Blessings Dennis
