The Intensity of the Fight… changes everything.

What is the difference between;, you know that a fight is coming. VS being fully committed to that flight. I think we can often be in a fight and not be committed until we reach a point of no return. Until we find this place where it’s just as treacherous to go back as it is to go forward. As I thought about Independence Day, The Fourth of July I thought deeply about those men and women who were committed to the point of giving up their life for the freedom that we now enjoy. When they hit those beaches in Normandy there was no going back. It was live or die. It was a complete commitment

Jacob wrestling with the angel is described in Genesis (32:22–32; It is also referenced in Hosea
12:4).  Here was a man known as a trickster, not your time-honored theologian or prophet.  But he was surely a man who knew how to fight and then had the nerve to demand a blessing.

In my mind, the whole idea of D Day, being a complete win or utter loss exponentially increases the level of my fight. There is no I’m going to try. No, I’ll give it my best effort. It was truly all or nothing.

As a parent have you ever had a dream were you were prepared to give your life for one of your children or your spouse?

Were you ever in a prayerful battle for the life of a loved one? A situation where your love is so deep , your hurt beyond explanation, that God not answering your prayer was not an option for you?

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but ye tarry in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. Luke 24:49

Tarry… what will it take for us to extend that level of commitment, that level of intensity that level of live or die as it relates to actually living the word of God? As it relates to his promises? As it relates to his commands?  It labors me to say that I know too few people that I believe to be true prayer warriors. When they tell me they are going to be praying about something, I know that it isn’t a night-time prayer of now I lay me down to sleep. But it is with the power of the Holy Spirit in true intercession and power. When I spend spiritual time with them it inspires me to be more and give more in my relationship with God and to be a better example to those that are watching me. Part of me says that we each need this dynamic devotional every morning to get us pumped up for the fight. This motivational lightning rod of faith that walks confidently out in the darkness

The truth is we have that. It’s called the word of God. With a little bit of God-knowledge and a little bit of digging you can find a specific piece of direction and confidence at any given moment and at any time. What is Intercession?

But without a life or death situation. Without the sentence of cancer. Without this almost insurmountable battle we may put in a little effort. But then again we may not. But to walk In the early light of day with the assuredness and confidence that God watches over every single one of his words to perform it (Jer 1:12)… It happens way too little. So what will it take to move you? What battle do you see looming that would motivate you to be all In?  Why is it necessary for us to be placed in a corner before we hunker down and become willing Courageous warriors of light?

Lord, my life is full of Holy Spirit directives.  My circle of living is full of battles that you have called me to if I would but know your word… so I might know your heart and direction.  Lord draw me into deeper waters so I might be lost in you.
