Who is in charge of your life?  Sunday’s Prophecy.

“The victory is mine. Don’t be confused. All good things flow from me. Give them to me. Give me your heart and passion and love and all things will be available to you. Set your talents at my feet and I will show you the treasures of my kingdom. Blessings pressed down and overflowing. Put your life and your house in order – don’t lose your focus. Stay focused on my dynamic, don’t get caught up or overwhelmed in the storms that will keep coming and going. But I – But I – AM in control. I am your all in all. See that. Know that. Live that, and all heaven will be there in my perfect will. Commit to me your finances, marriage, children…instead, make me your all and all – and I – Only I – will bring the order of your life and future into the realm of my perfect will and blessing. Be committed to me”.

I have, for most of my life, struggled with my plans And God’s purposes: Honestly, when I stopped to pray and really searched for God’s answers and direction, I knew when I was following His plans and when I wanted mine more and justified my actions.  I knew when I was out of step.  I knew when I was committed and when I wasn’t.

The truth is there will always be tension between what God’s purpose is and what our plans are.   For one reason we look through a glass dimly.  Secondly, God doesn’t broadcast his direction or his moves.  He often gives them to us just one step at a time. How easy is it for us to get confident in doing something good and we just keep pressing on assuming that is God’s plan and His best for me?  How often can you categorically say you see the whole picture?  (Never).

How often has he called me forward and I didn’t know his plan at all?  I was just being obedient.  And isn’t that what God asks of us? Deuteronomy 11:26-28 sums it up like this: “Obey and you will be blessed. Disobey and you will be cursed.”  We as Christians are called to a life of obedience. (End of Story).

Sam 15:22 But Samuel declared: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obedience to His voice? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, and attentiveness is better than the fat of rams”.

What? Embark on a cross-country journey without a route or a flight plan?

Nonsense, that isn’t logical!

Doesn’t that bring Abraham to mind when we read Hebrews 11
“and he went out, not knowing where he was going“.

That can be a test of faith that is unnerving in the extreme.

But God’s plan is the one that will prevail.  You know that right?  But do you live that?  His prophecy on Sunday says, “Stay focused on my dynamic.. for it is I…Only I -, who will bring the order of your life and future into the realm of my perfect will and blessing. Be committed to me”
