GIVING UP AND MOVING ON ARE NOT THE SAME.

. “Thirty, Sixty or a hundredfold, this is the fruit of breakthrough when you’re sowing into good, fertile soil. God intended for each one of us to bear fruit and that our fruit remain. See John 15:16 Many today are sowing into the wrong ground and are not receiving a return from the Lord.

The Lord identified 4 types of ground. Ground that is by the road, ground that is stoney, ground that is filled with thorns, and ground that is fertile. We need to take a close look at the soil that we are praying into, prophesying into, and giving our resources into. Is it producing fruit? If after a season of sowing, if it has not bearing fruit it’s time to shift to another ground. Don’t continue on the wrong ground. Shift to the fertile soil, it will produce”. (See Mark 4:14-20)

In researching this dynamic of giving up vs letting go, I discovered letting go means you’re choosing to accept what is or at least walk away from it, at least for now. It doesn’t mean you’re giving up. Rather, it’s letting go of something that has ceased to bear fruit. You acknowledge that the problems exist, but are choosing to move forward rather than continuing to fight a losing battle.

Letting go is a reflection of a positive mindset as opposed to giving up which is associated with a negative one. After prayer and careful council and deliberation, you choose to let go of a specific area or problem, you’re choosing to move towards the kind of life that’s in alignment with a more positive set of values and purpose.  That includes letting go of some people and certain habits that always seem to go poorly, end badly, and rarely lead to a Godly influence in your life.
Being real begins with being real with God and then yourself.
It’s important for me to live authentically, so I’ve made a conscious choice to let go of people and things that don’t serve or uplift me or point me to Christ.

There’s a story of a climber who dreamt of climbing a tall mountain alone,  He wanted to achieve this milestone even though wisdom says we need a partner. It was cold, his foot slipped and he was in a free fall. In that flash of his life, he remembered all the bad and good when suddenly something snatched him … it was the safety rope around his waist.

He cried to God for help. A voice came, WHAT WILL YOU HAVE ME DO?
Anything… just save me, Lord!
The voice came, CUT THE ROPE!  But the man could not.

When the rescue team came the next morning the man had frozen to death…holding onto his frozen rope.
ONLY 6 FEET FROM THE GROUND.

When we reach out to Father God, we need to take his lead.  Take his advice.  That may come from council, a word from God or a scripture that speaks to you about a new direction about letting go… that is not the same as giving up. When you have done all you can do to turn negative to positive and there is nothing else to do.  Seek council but let go of the rope!

For those of us who are in a battle or rut or funk. Don’t let discouragement and despair steal your identity in Christ. Remember who you are. YOU ARE A SON/DAUGHTER OF THE MOST HIGH GOD. LOOK UP …AND YOU WILL SEE HIS SALVATION IN DUE TIME. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Reach out for prayer, seek out the encouragers and prayer warriors in your life. TRUST GOD! 2 Chronicles 20:15
For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
