Never Too Old to Run the Race

We can’t be too old to keep giving simply because of age.
The race doesn’t end when we retire.
The great champions of faith who came before us—Abraham, Moses, Caleb, Paul—ran all the way to the finish line. They didn’t quit when the crowd stopped cheering or when their bodies grew weary.
They had a mission that never expired: to glorify God, to bear fruit,
and to pass on what they had learned.

It’s taken us a lifetime to learn all this—so who will we pass it on to? The calling remains.
The mission is still alive. The Kingdom still needs faithful soldiers.
Was the best you were, evidenced in your youth?  Or did you become better…more accomplished, polished, and valuable as you matured?

Faith isn’t about how long you’ve walked with God; it’s about how deeply you’re still growing in His truth. There’s an old saying: “If you’re ripe, you’re dying; if you’re green, you’re growing.” Growth doesn’t have an age limit. We older saints still have so much to give, share, and discover. How could it be otherwise? Are we too tired to share His love, His wisdom, His peace, His way?  We are soldiers…not retirees!

It begs the question Jesus asked Nicodemus: “Must I enter my mother’s womb again to be born again?”
No—but we must stay renewed in spirit, ever reborn in purpose.

Fruit grows in seasons. It falls, decays, and gives birth to more fruit. Year after year, the cycle continues. So must we—constantly reviewing our lives, not satisfied with yesterday’s harvest.
When you love someone, you never stop being there for them.
How could it be any different with the greatest love of our lives
Christ Jesus and the mission He gave us?

The tree doesn’t stop bearing fruit just because another season has passed.
Neither should we. It’s not too late to commit again!

Sometimes, as we grow older, we start reviewing the wrong part of our story—planning our exit instead of living our encore. It’s like sitting in a steakhouse and spending all your time critiquing the salad. We’re missing the main course!

Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 2:15: “For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.” The fruit of our lives carries a fragrance. Impacting people’s lives releases that fragrance into the world. But when we spew bitterness or despair, it produces only stench. We must never let the holy become common or call the world’s propane “holy fire.”

Worship is a weapon. We are soldiers, not retirees.
No matter what our age or condition, we are called to be true sons—prayer warriors,
seasoned ambassadors, and faith investors.

When was the last time you invested your faith for the impossible?  For something only God can do?
Who are we to deny what God has already done? History itself is a record of His promises fulfilled.
Let the Waymaker keep doing His work through His children.

If all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us, then anything is possible. And if anything is possible, then everything is possible. Who are we to stand in the way?

He never meant for us to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. Let the Waymaker do the heavy lifting. We are only as useful as we are tuned to His Word.  Faith doesn’t retire. God’s call doesn’t expire. The champions of old didn’t slow down—they finished strong. Will we?

So let’s stay green—still growing, still believing, still serving. Our mission hasn’t retired. The fragrance of Christ still lingers wherever His people refuse to quit.
