Who Is Inspiring You to Be More Like Christ? It Matters!
There is a difference between teaching a lesson and helping transform a life.
Sometimes the greatest danger in Christianity is not false teaching… it is shallow teaching. We can know Scripture, quote verses, attend Bible studies, and still never let the Word truly transform the way we live, lead, love, forgive, and serve. God never intended His Word to simply inform us. He intended it to remake us.
I work alongside 35 leaders who weekly help lead a group of men at Grace Family Church. I am so proud of not just what they do to lead their tables but who they have become and the passion to instill that love of Christ in others. One can transfer information. The other walks alongside someone until truth becomes action. That kind of calling carries weight. It requires more than intelligence, charisma, or worldly wisdom. It requires spiritual maturity, humility, and a life grounded in God’s Word.
Dearest friends, every one of us has been called to serve the Kingdom in some capacity. Some encourage. Some lead. Some disciple. Some intercede. Some teach. But wherever God has placed us, we should all aspire to become people who not only know the Word, but live it in such a way that others are drawn closer to Christ through our example.
In your Bible studies, conversations, and daily life, you may teach Scripture, and that is beautiful. We should all desire to pass on what we’ve learned so others can grow in Christ. But I believe there is an even deeper layer to spiritual leadership. Just as intercession often goes beyond simple prayer, helping someone apply God’s truth to their specific struggles goes beyond simply explaining a passage.
So many today are filled with insight, strategy, and practical wisdom, yet never mention the name of Jesus. The world constantly points people inward: believe in yourself, trust yourself, fix yourself, elevate yourself. But the Gospel points us upward. True transformation does not begin with self-exaltation. It begins with surrender.
Paul reminds us in 1 Timothy and Titus that spiritual leaders must be more than gifted communicators. They must be grounded in sound doctrine and marked by godly character. Blameless. Temperate. Hospitable. Faithful in their homes. Steady in their conduct. Why?
Because people are not only listening to our words… they are studying our lives.
How often have we all sat under teaching and wondered, But how do I actually live this out?
How do I forgive when I’m deeply wounded?
How do I trust God when finances collapse?
How do I lead my family spiritually when I feel inadequate myself?
How do I speak truth with both courage and love?
That is where transformation happens. Not merely in hearing truth… but in learning how to walk it out.
That is the heartbeat behind Fearlessly Courageous.
My prayer is not simply to inspire you emotionally for a few moments in the morning. It is to inspire you to hunger for God’s Word, to make it part of your daily spiritual nutrition, and to allow it to become the filter through which you think, speak, respond, and live. I hope these devotions encourage you not only to understand Scripture better, but to apply it more courageously in your marriage, parenting, leadership, friendships, business, and private struggles.
We all need inspiration. We all need people who stir our hearts toward holiness. Pastors. Friends. Mentors. Brothers and sisters in Christ who challenge us to rise above compromise and pursue the life God has called us to live. None of us drifts naturally toward godliness. We drift toward comfort, distraction, and self. That is why we need voices around us constantly pointing us back to Jesus.
Someone once said, “Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress.
Working hard for something we love is called passion.”
I want that kind of passion for Jesus. Not a casual faith. Not a Sunday-only Christianity. But a faith that shapes everything I think, imagine, pursue, and do.
And I pray you do too.
Because this world does not need more impressive Christians. It needs more surrendered ones. More people willing to open their Bibles when no one is watching. More men and women willing to obey God even when it costs something. More believers willing to inspire others not toward themselves… but toward Christ.
So today, ask yourself this:
Who is inspiring me to become more holy?
And who am I inspiring toward Jesus?
May we become people who do more than teach truth.
May we become people transformed by it.
