Meditating on Loving Jesus – Do We Really Know What That Means?
Oh, how I love Thee. Let me count the ways. Is that true for you?
When was the last time you stopped to count them… even for a few minutes?
How can one not love Jesus? Love God and not count the ways?
We pray for so many things, but when was the last time you prayed to love God more?
Prayed to know how to express your love in a richer, more profound manner?
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)
Without faith we cannot please Him. (Hebrews 11:6)
Shouldn’t our love for Him be the monumental desire of our heart? What does it say to you when it is not?
(don’t rush by this one…I really want you to answer that.
I am here to help you dive deeper not give you a watered down version of God’s word)
He said He would give us the desires of our heart. (Psalm 37:4) Where does loving Jesus rank on that list?
Being caught up in the emotion of a worshipful song cannot be the pinnacle of really loving God, can it? Loving God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit more?…how does one pray for that?
I’m a Christian… it’s a given… isn’t it? If something is a given, does it bypass the need for intentionality?
And where is the joy that should come from such a love… from your personal expression?
And how often should that be a priority and focus?
How can something we are supposed to live for not be a fiery passion within us?
How can something be the true desire of our heart when the very thought of it is foreign to us? Distant from us. A vague thought that never made it past our imagining?
How can that be?
Of all the gifts God has lavishly poured out on us, how can the greatest of these take up so little space?
We can only worship God in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)
How imperative is that prayer? How desperate are we to know the joy of the Lord in all things?
Of all the treasures, how can the joy of spending time with Him…in His Word, in prayer, in meditation…not be what we live and breathe and have our being for?
Wherever you are in your walk with God, where is the joy of our Lord visibly apparent…not just to those who see you… but to you?
We say we love Jesus. But is that love a fiery passion within us…
or something we have simply taken for granted?
These are life changing revelations and they expose us to our core. None of us can come out of this reflection unscathed. None of us. If you are truly a Christian…by the fruit of your lives…then you must come to the truth of this…And repent and change your ways.
I believe there is no other way?
And what will you do with this revelation?
