Are you too set in your ways to change?
What was the most humanly impossible thing you asked of God this year? _____________________

John 15-7 “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you”.
What does that mean to you? What spiritual discipline will you increase? We are nearing another year’s end, have you taken measure of yourself?…
What’s important to you? What’s important to God for you?
Whose salvation have you been praying for?
It isn’t too late to change or to begin.
What is the single thing you have done this year that will matter in 10 years?
Oh Lord, Dennis why all these penetrating questions and it’s not even New Year’s yet?
I accidentally sent you two devotionals yesterday and I prayed today about what to share and here we are. As we gather with family over the holidays what better time to take inventory…do some self-assessing…make some changes or perhaps begin some new family traditions.
What might you do, by Grace, differently this year as families gather?
So much of our uncertainty in navigating life comes from not knowing God’s word. Why?… we don’t have time or don’t take the time. Can you carve 30 mins off of TV time to read God’s word? Maybe even as a family?
We seemed to have lost the value of God’s word in our lives.
Deuteronomy 32:47 “They are no just idle words for you, they are your life.
By them, you will live long…” Did you hear that? Long Life!
Let’s look at these scriptures together. Ps 19: 7-10 “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul.” His word brings emotional health.
“The statures of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.”
His word is wisdom.
“The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.”
How much real joy is in your life?
“The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes”.
Faith cometh by hearing.
“The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous.” “They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; They are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.”
God breathes life into our existence.
John 6:63-64 “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” Don’t you see there is a difference between God-breathed life and the life of the world?
His ways are above our ways. We must change and be as a little child to enter into his kingdom. We must remain in him and to do that we must meditate on his word. That is where we will grow from and where we will live from. It is the life of God…not the life of you.
