Where there is no accountability, evil men rule!
What if I told you that you would not be able to grow and mature as Christians
without this one thing?
Accountability:
It is hard to be Accountable when you are alone all the time, isn’t it?
But sometimes situations in life leave us separated and lonely at times,
even though we are part of a family.
Look at what happened after the crucifixion. After that crisis, those men felt alone and terrified. Jesus's disciples ran away, they felt abandoned and afraid. They ran to hide. We have all been there. Some of you are there now. There can be a lot of personal reasons why. We need to reach down and be honest with ourselves about what we are giving our life out to and for. What are you living for? If you can’t answer that, you have found part of your dilemma. Who are you living for? What are you living for? Many have tried God but came away empty because they came to receive and not to give. They came for what he could give them. Peace, calmness, happiness, healing, prosperity. Who needs a reason to receive? But love is about giving and serving. You can’t outgive God, you can’t out love God. You cannot outlive God. We are all looking for love in our hearts and live like that comes from other people or circumstances. Love comes from God and until we ask God into our lives and hearts and families we will be living from an empty bucker. Constantly trying to fill it like the women at the well. Jesus has water that will fill your thirst, change your life and change you. John 4: 4-26
We can run away or we can move away from the noise of life and seek him. Pray he will reveal himself to you in a deeper way. Tell him you are sorry for all your mistakes. Yes, again! And recommit yourself to serving him, loving him and the proof of that is in loving others and serving them as an
extension of His hand.
These men ran but Jesus promised to send them a helper who would never leave them. The Holy Spirit. He also sent him to you. But he also sent them out in Two's so one would be there for the other WHEN they fall down!.
And I promise you this.
The Holy Spirit has an accountability partner for you here. But you have to open up your heart…you have to make yourself available. Its starts by giving the Holy Spirit a little bit of your time,, to enter a deeper relationship with him AND this other person he has for you to walk with.
I pray you are listening today.
Hebrews 13:17 ”Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.”
Accountability: Willingness to accept responsibility
or to account for one's actions.

COMFORT ZONES ARE ALWAYS MOVING!
Look let's be practical, we continually stretch/grow our children to be more.
Who is stretching you these days? Who is calling you out of your comfort zone? And how?
(Possible answers) GOD IS! The Holy Spirit is! Other Godly men are!
THE BEST WAY TO DEVELOP PEOPLE IS TO LOVE THEM OUT OF THEIR COMFORT ZONE. That zone can often be sin.
Blessings come at the end of your comfort zone!
QUESTION: God’s truth was never meant to make you feel comfortable. So why are we looking for comfort? (easy, safe, doesn’t draw attention to ourselves and challenges no one)
Hebrews 12:11 teaches, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
Question: Where are we to find Godly partners to call us out of our comfort zones?
The truth is, there’s a certain type of personality that doesn’t want accountability, but affirmation.
It's always interesting to me when I have a conversation with a fellow Christian who says things like, "Yeah, I don't really like people getting into my business too much." Or "I'm kind of a private person." Or "I prefer to listen more than share."
What you are hearing are comfort zones. FEAR! You are hearing hurt people who don’t know how to be vulnerable or transparent. They have been hurt and don’t know the way to FREEDOM! And many feel like they are ok where they are … until the Holy Spirit brings brokenness.
As Christians we need to be accountable for our actions and be examples to our family, knowing that our heavenly father is watching us and watching over us.
We know that many things are just too hard alone, dieting, exercising, changing a bad habit, we need people to encourage us, ask some hard questions on whether we are following through on our commitment to change.
Our church starts small groups next week. Men, women, children, teens, young adults, divorce care…there are so many. Do you feel an emptiness?
Trust God and choose one. Put yourself out there with other people who are searching for more peace too. More of God too. Accountability is a pathway to Freedom. It will change your life and make you a better happier person. It doesn't matter what church you attend… step out.
Trust God and He will meet you there! I promise
