How does God fight for us? How do we join in?
2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.
What does it take to heal a land? Or a heart? Or a tainted past of mistakes and selfish pursuits? Who can change the direction of a river or a nation? Who has that power? Who has that kind of love to want to?
You must know we are in a spiritual fight. For what you ask? EVERYTHING! Satan’s task is to corrupt everything. To create half-truths of everything, so your truths become this convenience of living life in the most satisfactory manner…for us and our pleasure. That Convenience of Living a pretty good life, should satisfy the reasonableness of everyone right? If we would just be reasonable…it is the 21 century for crying out loud! Times have changed. Tolerance is there so we can be inclusive of other ways of living and believing.
Who are we to say that Jesus is the Only Way…The Only Truth. We all know what happens in our world should we be so brave to stand up and voice that! People die daily for that in third-world countries. But that is not required in the good ole USA.
Moses answered the people in Ex 14:14, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Who are your Egyptians today? It says God will fight for you. The truth is, God IS fighting for you. So how do you get in the fight as you are standing firm? By engaging your faith!
Don’t give up on you or them or that situation! Keep the faith and release it back to God. It is His language of love. It is the light that dispels the darkness and the ugliness we haven’t fully renounced yet
Fight by falling onto God as you fall to your knees. Fall into his presence as you let go of those old appetites, those old tendencies, those old selfish tendencies of another life that we don’t want anymore. God doesn’t want me to have them anymore either. When we draw near to him he draws near to us and slowly removes those barnacles of that old life. We grow in Jesus till we get to that spot that we don’t want them, don’t miss them, and can’t imagine ever being in need of them. He loves YOU enough to keep pursuing YOU. To keep changing you and me into Him. Into his image – into his nature of goodness, kindness – mercy, and forgiveness.
A promise to become something eternal. Eternally blessed – eternally thankful – eternally forgiven and eternally enabled by His sacrifice to be a part of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. The family of Jesus.
