"When was the last time you just wanted me.  When? I love you my child but i miss our times of just you cuddling up for a little while. When was the last time you missed that loving feeling. Yes, you must put off the weights that burden you… That cause your distractions, heaviness, and distance from me.  Enter into my holy place where nothing else will do   Nothing else. Come empty-handed and open-hearted that we can again be united in one spirit in one purpose and one love. I know your every care. Be at peace and turn them all over to your trust in your father and the lover of your soul. Come, my child. Come

Everything…. everything you need and want is in me."

Whether it was family, friends, relationships, my job, or even ministry, I have been called to do favors, duties, or various tasks but at the end of many days of serving, and just not feeling the love,…Honestly, I wasn't looking for that, but after a while, it started to wear on me and I began wondering if some really cared for my well-being or just needed me to do something for them.

There is a big difference between being needed and wanted.

Ultimately, doesn't everyone want to be wanted and accepted for who they are and not for what they have or what you can do for them?  After a while, it begins to bother you when it is one-sided.  We want more of a shared love or consideration.  I know it's that way with me.  Even with my children.

Sandra J. Charite, said "I believe,  there is a difference between being needed and wanted.  Being needed has an expiration date while wanting someone becomes more of a desire and hunger that can last a lifetime".  It is a different mindset.  Of course,  I could have said no to those who needed me.  After all, I am not obligated to anyone or their demands but there was something in me (and maybe you too) that always wanted to help others.  Honestly, I do get  gratification that I am needed.   But in the past, if I don't monitor this, I have often found myself neglecting myself and my family letting people use me…need me… but not really show any real love or respect for me.

I was reading in Genesis 27:22, about Jacob, Rachel, Leah, and the girl's dad Laban.  Jacob wanted Rachel and promised to work 7 yrs for her.  On their wedding night, Leban broke his word and slipped in the older sister Leah.  Jacob discovered the lie in the morning.

Yet, Leah kept having Jacob’s babies hoping to get his attention and somehow be wanted by him.  However, Rachel had his heart. And 7 more years later he had Rachel, the pretty one.

In Leahs case, it must have been tough when you’re needed for only what you can do and not who you are.  Imagine being married to a man who only loves you for your cooking, the way you fold his clothes, and organize his office.

I clearly felt God was saying that Sunday morning.  He asked a direct question…When was the last time you really wanted me?

That you hungered after me?

It actually hurt me to have him ask it.  How does it make you feel? He wants to cuddle a while with his kids.  What a lovely site.  Not for a prize, or a new job, or the right person in our lives but just because we love him for who he is.  King of Kings…Abba Father…Daddy hold me tightly and just let our love flow together.   He says, lay aside the weights and distractions and come home to Dad.  Just come home…There is peace, love, acceptance, and joy here in my presence.  Gal 5:22  "Everything you need and want are in me."

What will you do about that this week?  Do you have time?
