Time is shorter than you imagine. Sunday’s Prophecy
As we enter Holy Week. The week leading up to Passover… Good Friday and the horrific scourging of Jesus – His Death – And then the Greatest Day in all history. Resurrection Day. This is one of my favorite weeks of the year. It inspires me to press into the love he has demonstrated for each of us. Here was his word to me during worship on Sunday. “Focus – refocus – Focus! Prepare yourself for your future. Time is shorter than you imagine – put on your blinders. Don’t look to the left or right. See me! See what I see. Dig deeper to know me. Deeper and Higher. Yes, the road is less traveled. Yes, there is resistance. But my work in you and through you is at a monumental moment. Do not negate or minimize my spirit in you. My plans for you to be a brighter light. Surrender more of yourself and I will come into clearer focus. See me… hear me and step out. I am with you… my power abides in you…focus…your
mission is ordained. I have you anointed for your journey.
Step out. Be Bold in me and for me. I promise wherever you think you are You have only begun
your upward climb. Surrender my child and be filled with me. Now”.
I was taking a break today and was scrolling through some shorts on the internet. I kept hearing TIME and I heard this inner voice say what are you spending your time on. Are those things important to you? Why? Those people – those places – those things! So what are you spending your time on? When was the last time you took inventory your company didn’t demand from you. But inventory on the time off work? Life is short tomorrow isn’t promised… we know that, but often it doesn’t move us. Why is that? Don’t we need to be accountable for THAT time? Ok, so your not crazy about being accountqable to God. What about the family and people in your life? The ones we cherish, pray for and yearn for when they are gone? The ones that bring us joy and happiness. While are we so reluctant to be accountable
for our TIME?
There is so much happening in the world. In America. Iran. In Israel. In China.
We must surely be in the final days.
Does that thought ever cross your mind?
We too often feel like we don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. Is that young child’s painting you put on the refrigerator really a work of art? But, isn’t that little child critically important to us? God feels that way towards you. You are being molded for his work and his glory. Every child matters. Every child of God matters and is woven into God‘s plan. Your name is written in his book. He prepared a place for you. Yes even in the presence of ugliness and catastrophes. His plan includes you as his child. He is not calling for sacrifice, but obedience. How does one prepare for an eternal purpose? In the Spirit by the emptying of our life for his. He says to Focus. What does that mean to you? Really. If God has given you a word to Focus think about what that means. Time is shorter than we think? I hear urgency. He is saying to look with Spirit eyes…not in the natural. See what He sees. He says to surrender more of ourselves so we can see more clearly. To do what? I think of the great commission he gave each of us, all
of us.
I have been encouraging our courageous men to introduce themselves to one other man each week and invite them to our men’s group or coffee or lunch. I passed one this morning as I heard his voice to do that. I saw another and was convicted to move… he had already passed me…I tapped him on the shoulder and introduced myself and invited him. He said, my wife and I were just talking about this…and now I get your invitation. I saw clearly his Holy Spirit had gone
before me. The result is not my responsibility, but my obedience is.
Many men who come to Courageous or even the women’s group, the couples groups are not saved. Just because someone comes to church doesn’t mean that Jesus is the Lord of their life. Many just feel better coming. It satisfied this spiritual craving to discover more of God. We led a man to the Lord just a short while ago as I sat at a small group table. That man had been coming for months. What is his life worth eternally? Isn’t he like our youngster as we post his painting on the refrigerator? I wonder how many adult children we have that are not really saved, and we pray that such a thing would happen to them. Someone, would be the means God uses to bring him back home. Oh, how we pray for that. But, ever child is a son or daughter of someone. Everyone one of them is a child God has called. Time is ticking and we are not
promised even tomorrow.
He says our name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. What does the significance of that mean to you? He said he is anointing each of us for his plan for us. Christ in us the Hope of Glory! He prepares a table for us in the presence of the world. Ps 23. He tells us to be Bold and Step Out! What does that mean to you? What has he been calling you to that you haven’t taken notice of or have been avoiding the call? Be Obedient…Step Out… The life that comes to the Lord may be someone in your family. You might be the thin line that God will use to bring them
home to Eternity.
I pray you are listening today. I pray you really contemplate on his words of urgency and his call
to step out. Focus this week on Jesus!
Great are you Lord. Casting Crowns
