Why God will never consecrate or sanctify our Old Man.

His Prophecy this week said, “The work I have for you cannot be successful in the flesh.- in your will or determination. It is only by my grace and walking in the spirit. I am doing something bigger and I need more than your heart.”
Again we have nothing to offer to God in the natural. R
oman 6:12-13 says to present yourself unto God, as alive from the Dead. The key word is “present” it is mentioned 5 times here in vs 13.16.19.

We understand this as the begging of consecration but not the way many think.
It is not the consecration of the old man…
What is there but what is listed above in John 6:63. “ the flesh is no help at all, the flesh profits nothing; Human effort accomplishes nothing”. So what sanctification could there possibly be in our Old Man… with their natural wisdom… strengths and other gifts. What is there in them that God would possibly want us to present to His holiness?
NOTHING.
In vs 13, he says to present yourself “as alive from the dead!” Can you see, this is where consecration begins? NOT the consecration of anything the old man might possess in his finest state. No, the presenting is the OUTCOME…The Conclusion…The Aftereffect…The Payoff…The result of us knowing the old man is dead and buried. Crucified.

Instead, we PRESENT to God, the KNOWING of that truth…That I AM indeed crucified with Him and then spontaneously, automatically, I reckon myself dead (See vs 6 and 11) It is only Grace that allows us to see that fact…that truth. By the spirit, we must come to realize the ultimate truth of that. Nate Holdridge used a great metaphor to describe this life-changing paradigm.
“Have you ever had a dream where you could breathe underwater? It violates the senses because it goes beyond our everyday experience. In Romans 6:5-11, Paul will take his readers to a place even more counterintuitive than underwater breathing. He will teach us we are dead to sin and ALIVE to God, right now”.

Paul presses our imaginations even further in Roman 6:11 “So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and ALIVE to God in Christ Jesus.” Our unity with Christ is complete in that crossover of really considering ourselves dead to sin and Alive to God…Not when the trump sounds but Right Now!

But before a person can honestly say and do Romans 6:11 they must know and believe Romans 6:5-10. In other words, I cannot consider myself dead to sin and alive to God until I see the truth behind it. Which is Romans 6:5 “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.”

In other words, our relationship with Jesus is what changes our relationship with sin. When I experience temptation, I must recall the fact that I died and rose with Jesus, for my identification with him changes the power of sin over me.

Watchman Nee says in his book The Normal Christian Life (Pages 96,-,98) Both the Death and the Resurrection side of the Cross are accepted by Faith! When we are there…(and too many are not!) When one reaches this point, then we can see by the Grace of the Spirit that “in resurrection” He is the Only Source of Life.

But get this…Until we pass through death, we have nothing to consecrate…nor is there anything from that old man that God can accept…for he condemned all of the old to the cross. Death has cut off all that cannot be consecrated to him.
From that point forward we “PRESENT” to God Our Whole Life…as it ALL belongs to Him alone. He says, ‘ Present your members, Roman 6:13-19 God requires this! All my members, all my facilities, as belonging wholly to him.

Have you discovered this Great Thing by Grace? That I am no longer my own but His! Meaning, if I am spending my wealth or money then they are mine and I have authority over them, but when they belong to another, who has committed them to me in trust, then I cannot buy what I please and I dare not lose them.

Real Christian Life Begins with Knowing That Truth! “Because Christ is Risen we are therefore ALIVE “: Unto God” and not ourselves.
How many of us have a really strong sense that we belong to another?
Our time, our efforts, our money, and our thoughts do not belong to us but to God Almighty. We can know that only by the Grace of the Holy Spirit.
We must cross the plane of the natural INTO the spiritual realm that makes us like a newborn, a new birth, born of water and Spirit
belonging to the Loving God of the Universe.

His calling this week is about “stepping into the deeper Spirit waters right before you.” We are to understand that the flesh crucified is not what we are presenting to God. But rather the resurrected life. Paul says, Present your members as servants to righteousness unto sanctification (Holiness as unto the lord). Ex 28:36

Holiness is not the eradication of something evil within…
We become holy by being united unto God!
Set apart. Called. Giving ourselves wholly unto Him.
When we do that, it means we have stopped to listen. We have found the deeper waters…We are walking in his directive…by the Spirit. And then… we will be about the things of God. Our Sanctuary will be swept clean. Our hearts will be purified, and we will have surrendered ourselves
in obedience.

I pray you do not give up on His call this week to hear his calling for a new beginning…
a new thing He is doing. Don’t stop until you hear Him. Maybe you are like Daniel who waited 3 weeks for his breakthrough. Pray it through with fasting and you will hear His calling. It is His Promise.

I give you my heart.. Renata Triani
