The Cross…The Blazing Center of the Glory of God

One day all of us will stand before God to give an account of what we have done with our lives. What will He say? It depends on what we do now. I know we have all made some serious mistakes in the past. Some of us have failed miserably. But God is not holding that against any of us. If you have repented and really turned from those old ways. (They are under the blood of Christ… DONE!) If not, repent and try that commitment again. Today you and I have an opportunity to do something great, something that will make Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” when we see His face. Put God first! Start Now! Phil 3:7-8 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ”.

Only ONE thing matters… Know Christ… and Gain Christ. Everything else is NOTHING. Hay and stubble. It will not pass eternities test.

You must realize that to really know Christ and live for him ONLY… Transforms you – into a better husband, wife, son, daughter, friend, worker, business owner. It is not debilitating or a black mark against you, for it is the mark of love, truth, forgiveness, understanding, compassion, grace…

All done for the Glory of God.

What is the one passion in your life that has surpassed your passion for Jesus Christ? Be honest. Look at the time… follow the time and the money and you will see it. Truthfully, you can have all of that and more by placing Jesus at the head of the table… At the top of your bucket list. Because he is the light unto your feet. Ps 119:105 From him ushers forth all wisdom, innovation, peace, contentment, and the courage to reach for the prize. Jesus Christ is that prize. Everything else is a dim and futile imitation that will rust and burn, in due season. Life is wasted – if we do not cherish the cross for the treasure it is. It is the price for our every joy and highest pleasure and the deepest comfort of every pain. His way was once foolishness to us. Titus 3:3 “For at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, misled, and enslaved to all sorts of desires and pleasures— living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,…” BAM… Everything Changed. Does the first part of that look like our world today? Malice, envy, being hated and hating one another? But Jesus exploded on the scene and changed it with his love … He took that love to the cross like a sheep to the slaughter. I am feeling a bit like that today, but I know My God is Able! He is in control! If God is for us who can be against us? Romans 8:31 God is doing something new and bigger than anything He’s ever done in our life or ministry. This morning it hit me in a powerful way—not a new thought, but a more urgent one. You and I are a vital part of God’s plan to Glorify God… to share his love and peace with an angry world. You and I are not spectators, but participants in the most important spiritual battle of our generation. And I’m asking for your help today to put on the armor of God. Drop to your knees for the many needs around you and for our nation.

Humble yourself before God and in everything you do. Give him the Glory because He is your strength and your glory too.
