Tearing down Strongholds and Building an Altar at Home!
In Judges 6:24 Gideon builds an altar to the Lord and called it “the Lord is peace”. One key aspect of a true servant of God is that they have the peace of God. But they must know the power of his blood, the forgiveness of their sins, and their justification by faith. And then no matter what happens or how tough the battle is they can look towards heaven and KNOW that the Lord is peace. In Judges 6; 25-26 he told him to pull down the altar of Baal which belonged to his father and build an altar to the Lord your God on top of the stronghold. Look at this! After the Lord delivered Gideon, he sent him to pull down the strongholds of his family. That is another aspect of a true servant of God. Meaning, they will be anointed to bring order and that order begins with their own families. Their homes are surely not perfect, but they will be put in order. God is very concerned with all the disorder in our homes and churches today. And those whom God sends will initiate reconciliation and repentance. Because they are individuals who are filled with the grace and truth of Christ, they will be a great Godly influencers but they will not be received by all. The process of bringing order will start in little, non-public relationships of their own homes.
I encourage you with all my heart to begin the battle by pulling down the strongholds in your home.
I gave you a list of the 16 strongmen earlier in the week. Bring your family into prayer and through prayer bring healing and order. If you fail in this preparation the enemy will have an open door to counterattack and undermine your credibility. See 1 Timothy 3:5 But please note again and watch what God called Gideon to do. The pulling down of the stronghold was only half of the battle.
He said ON THAT VERY SITE build an altar to the Lord.
If the stronghold is fear it must be replaced with an altar of faith. If bitterness exists, love must take his place. On a citywide scale, where perversion rules, purity must now rain. Or when Greed is the master, generosity must preside. I think you get what I mean here. But be aware, Gideon pulled down his father’s altar to Baal but instead of being welcomed and applauded they came en masse to kill him! Be clear, the demonic powers that ruled the area stirred its captives to fight against the lord’s servant. Expect resistance even among God‘s people. Please take note, the Lord used Gideon to mobilize a large army, but the Lord promptly reduced them to 300 soldiers. It will never seem like God has given us enough people or skills to accomplish the task. This lack, however, is met by God. (We must guard that truth in our hearts fervently) In summary, in answer to our prayers, and the cries of his people, a new anointing will be coming. As we see individuals laying down their lives, as families come together, drawing the church together in repentance and prayer. Out of this surrender, the power is coming to guide both churches and cities toward revival. The servants are sent by God. They will not come to TRY anything: because in Christ’s power they will come to CARRY OUT the express purpose of God. What they decree will come to pass. They will lead a repentant people out of oppression and into God‘s remedy for their cities… revival. But some may say, I can’t believe I could be on the front line of a call for revival. Oh ye of little faith. Just be obedient. Just be faithful. Just do what Christ asks you to do and through his mercy and grace… HE will do it! Father draw your people together to pray, to feel, and to absorb into their souls the desperate condition of their cities and their homes. Lord, with Isaiah I say, here are I: send me. Forgive me for fearing the enemy. Lord bring your anointing to your servant that, through your power, we might see our homes and nation turn back to you.
