DO MY WORDS SAY … YES LORD I BELIEVE?
My wife is a real stickler on words. When was son was small he came home from school and told us he had heard a bad S word that day. We asked what it was. I can’t say it, Mom. We said its ok son you can tell us, and he finally blurted it out after much more prompting. “STUPID”. He was trained from an early age that certain words are just not uplifting, edifying, and often tear people down. To tell the truth I have threatened to write a book of the words not allowed in our home. But truthfully my wife is completely, scripturally, and biblically right. Our mouth is a one-man army for good or evil. Proverbs 12:18 – “There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” My wife believes you can change your world by changing your words! So do I.
It is time to say: “Yes Lord I Believe”.
How often have we heard or thought it’s too good to be true? We hear these amazing stories of how God has delivered so many from such incredible pain. But I think many have unknowingly, become cynics and habitual doubters. We need to receive God‘s promises and believe them. Because they are for you.
What words are you speaking and thus believing?
We can print out piles of teachings concerning the new covenant but its greatest power is released by divine revelation.
Can I ask, when was the last time you prayed for revelation?
When was the last time you prayed that your eyes would be specifically opened to the things of God? And then perhaps, beyond waiting for some voice, that you might dive into the word of God and see what God has already said about that? Ephesians 4- 24 Says; “we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. We have received all things pertaining to life and godliness. We have been created in the image of him who created us, in holiness and righteousness”. Take note that the words of scripture are written in the past tense. They have already been given to us, not because we deserve it but due to the greatness of God‘s love and the sacrifice of Christ. But man seems to be constrained more by his past, his struggles, his words, and his failures than by God’s promises for today and the future. Our words have us bound up like a strongman has entered our house and paralyzed us. There’s an old saying that you can’t live your life in your rearview mirror. And then I got to thinking that you can’t move forward looking in the mirror either. Because that means you’re looking at yourself…the focus is you…introspectively.
You can’t change yourself by looking at yourself.
Until we look away from ourselves and do what Peter did when he was asked to step out of the boat and walk across the water to Jesus. He started to sink looking at the storms about him but finally in desperation took his eyes off of himself and placed them on the true light of the world and the words and promises Jesus had been speaking to him for 3 years.

So that whoever believes in him, would have eternal life. This new covenant is the basis of true faith. He said in Mark 11:24 “therefore I SAY to you, all things that you pray and ask, believe that you receive them, and they shall be granted to you”. This is no trickery, no mind manipulation. It is simply a revelation of what has been accomplished at the cross: the fulfillment of a new covenant between the father and son.
Our salvation and faith are not based on what we do, but upon who Jesus becomes to us.
To fully abandon ourselves into the power of the new covenant is to discover the kingdom of God. Yet, before we can conquer our enemies, we must know the power of Jesus blood. We need to pray fervently for a deepening of the revelation concerning God‘s covenant with us Hebrews 13:20–21 “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ.” Ps 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight. Not let my doings only be righteous; let the door of my lips be kept, that I utter no evil word, and the recesses of my heart be purged, that I think no evil thought. O Lord, my strength; Are you listening to the words, the song, and prayer of David? Not my doings only, but let the door of MY LIPS be kept… that I would UTTER NO EVIL WORD… against myself or any word to squash the faith of another with unbelief of cynicism. And yet further, Lord look into the recesses of my deepest heart and inner thoughts and let No evil thought survive!
Not that I can Lord… but YOU… OH LORD MY STRENGTH. That I may obey you in every thought, word and deed!
