Fearlessly Courageous

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.”
Did you ever think that part of the DNA that God gave us was to have fun, laugh and smile.? I’d like to tell you a short story. A long time ago, a young boy on his way to school in the morning would sneak into an old general store. He would go straight over to a large barrel that was full of molasses. He would dip his fingers in, eat it, and then run out the door before the owner of the store could catch him.
Well, as you might imagine, the owner didn’t like this at all, so he decided one day he was going to catch this boy and teach him a lesson. So like always, the young boy was heading to school and once again sneaked into the general store. But this time the owner was hiding behind the door. The boy came in and headed straight to the barrel full of molasses.
The boy was just about ready to dip his fingers into the barrel when out from behind the door jumped the store keeper! He grab the boy, picked him up, and was ready to thrust him headfirst into the barrel full of molasses when he heard the boy say, Lord give me a tongue equal to this great opportunity!
I think I say that every day; Lord give me a pen and a mind equal to this great opportunity to write these devotionals every day. I think each of us could say that about something that we do that we love doing.
Proverbs 17:22 reminds us that a merry heart doeth good like a medicine.
That smile or laugh is a facelift you can perform yourself
that is guaranteed to improve your appearance.
A smile is a curve that helps us see things straight.
A smile goes a long way but you’re the only one they can start it and it’s a journey. So smile often and give your frown a rest.
Someone said, ” laughter is like changing a babies diaper. It doesn’t permanently solve any problems, but makes things more acceptable for a while”. It’s the only medicine that needs no prescription, has no unpleasant taste, and cost no money in laughter.”
The worst day you can have is the day you have not laughed. It is said the optimist laughs to forget. The pessimist forgets to laugh. My attitude is that we might as well laugh at ourselves once in a while – everyone else is!
I understand this isn’t the typical devotional you might’ve been expecting. But honestly my day today was rather hectic and frantic. But Janet Lane said, of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important. Right now if you didn’t notice is just me putting on a different face and I decided to take you along with me.
I remember my mother teaching me that cheerfulness is contagious, but it seems like some folks have been vaccinated against the infection.
(I think that’s what really in all these vaccines the government is giving out).
The trouble with being a grouch is that you must make new friends every month.
Truth is, it is almost impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.
If you can laugh at something you can live with it. Robert Fulghum. said,
He who laughs… lasts.
Steve Miraboli. said it only takes a split second to smile and forget, yet to someone that needed it, it can last a lifetime
Psalm 126:2 -3 “then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy: then they said among the nations The Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us: we are glad”.
Will you stop and pray with your family and me for just one hour. Would you ask for a joyful spirit this weekend and make sure you share it with everyone.
