Be Vigilant & Pray… we may escape what’s coming!
I hope Luke 21:36 gets your attention. “Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
Be always on the watch – How can we be so vigilant about something that was said over 2,000 years ago? I think that’s what the 5 Virgins said when they didn’t bring the extra oil, just in case. And Bam… when they returned, the door was closed to them.
“and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen”: This refers to the trials and tribulations that WILL come to pass, and pray for strength to overcome.
So what does that mean for you and me? Is this about the rapture?… Actually, EVERYTHING is about the rapture. Because if you don’t make the lift… you’re not going at all without going through the darkest 3 ½ yrs the earth has ever known. It’s not like you can try and qualify again next year at the Masters. If you die, and you have truly not made Jesus 1st in your life. Lord of your life. King of your heart’s desires. Then you have not escaped…
“and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man”:
This signifies the ultimate goal of enduring through faith and standing before Jesus Christ on the Day of Judgment.
Many of us had our eyes to the skies on July 4th, watching and enjoying fireworks with family and friends. So today, as you’re looking up, think about the day that Jesus returns. Imagine the scene and let your soul be lifted! “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God”.
Luke 21:36 is a call to believers to live intentionally, prayerfully, and in a state of spiritual readiness for the return of Jesus, so that they won’t be lulled into complacency or be deceived by not staying in the word of truth. And not opening up their mouths to proclaim His coming. Who are we afraid of offending? And just as critically, NOT looking for or believing in the signs that are happening all around us in so many areas, it’s actually a bit mind-blowing.
His command, “Go into all the world”… It seems money allows us to do that by proxy, but what escape is there from the responsibility of talking to our own family, children, friends, and coworkers?
The Rapture is not about the ESCAPE, it’s about the ARRIVAL OF THE King. Joy Everlasting. Isn’t that mindset and the very essence of “Being Ready”? We need to pick up the pace. Some of us need to get in the race. Jesus wants you prepared, NOT scared. Part of this urgency is for you to be a real part of this with him. If you knew He was coming tomorrow, what calls would you be making? Who would you be inviting over? Really?
OK, let’s get real. Why so much talk about the end times? There are many other things for us to discuss and learn about. Look, for every verse there is about the first coming, there are eight times more about the 2nd coming. Paul spoke of baptism 12 times, but the coming of the Lord 52 times. The closer the runner gets to the finish line, the more screaming and cheering there is, right? It isn’t a time for quiet solemness, but let’s shout…Run…Run..Run…Hosanna to the King!
Did you know that last month, Emanuel Macron from France was promoting a 7-year agreement with the EU and the UN for a Palestinian state. (Think about that…7 yrs!) But it got postponed due to the
12-day war with Iran.
There are so many signs that point to His coming. Let’s look at a few:
Leviticus, particularly in chapter 2, describes grain offerings made to the Lord in a detailed process involving crushing until the grain reached a fine consistency. This flour was then mixed with oil and frankincense and presented to the priests. There is a company in Israel that produces flour meeting the religious requirements for offerings as described in Leviticus, specifically related to the Temple offerings. The first time in 2000 years.
The Red Heifers: In September 2022, five red heifers were transported from Texas to Israel, garnering significant attention. These heifers were specifically bred to meet the required standards through a collaboration between Jewish religious leaders and Christian ranchers. To circumvent export restrictions at the time, they were reportedly classified as “pets”. They need three and two have been disqualified for minor impurities. The rituals associated with it are viewed as crucial for the potential rebuilding of the Third Temple and the ushering in of the coming Messiah.
Rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem: While some groups have even prepared architectural plans even though in the natural, the political, religious, and practical realities make such a project highly unlikely in the foreseeable future.
It’s important to remember that the first temple (Solomon’s Temple) was destroyed by the Babylonians, and the second temple, rebuilt after the exile, was later renovated by Herod. The second temple was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70.
The third temple, according to certain biblical interpretations, Matthew 24 and 2 Thessalonians 2 and those in Ezekiel’s prophecy(Ezekiel 40-48) and the Messianic era, the Temple in Jerusalem indicating the temple will be rebuilt before or during the Tribulation period, potentially as a location for the Antichrist’s activities.
Today, there are Zionist groups preparing priests for the Temple Mount celebrations. Group after group is preparing for the coming of the Messiah. They have already selected a high priest. Coincidence?
Turkey, on the border of Israel, is colluding with Russia and others to build missile sites. Both Syria and Turkey are named as two that will be involved with Russia in the Gog Magog war.
Natural Phenomena: Floods, Earthquakes, Plagues, (Covid), Wars, and rumors of more wars. Asteroids, Blood moons.
We are blessed to see the signs…If you are watching for them. He said, When you see these things, lift your head. Your redemption draweth nigh. But who is looking…seeing… let alone believing?
He is giving us these signs because he loves us. He loves you. He wants to strengthen you, encourage you. Our voice is to be a trumpet of his coming. Is it?
Jesus said, The generation that sees Israel regathered. 1948 May 14th. That generation will not pass away until all is fulfilled. 1967.
The Hebrew language, dead for 2000 years, is restored and reborn and spoken in Israel. No one is speaking Amorite or Canaanite. 120 years ago, no one spoke Hebrew, now a whole nation does. A dead language comes alive just before the messiah comes.
14,000 Ethiopian Jews were brought back on May 24th and 25th in 1991. The airlift is seen by many as a modern-day fulfillment of biblical prophecies about the scattered Jewish people returning to their homeland. deeply meaningful event from a biblical perspective, reflecting themes of divine providence, prophecy fulfillment, the ingathering of the exiles,
Mark Twain, in the 1800s, said the land was desolate and wouldn’t support life. Yet today, Israel produces 90% of the fruit of all Europe. Another sign.
China is said to be rebuilding the Archway for Baal worship where the Tower of Babel was. The Talmud says it’s the last sign before the Messiah comes.
Planets are signals: Blood red moons on Passover and the tabernacle. When was the last time you had 4 in a row on Passover and Tabernacle? In 1967, when Jerusalem was won back. In 1948, when Israel was made a nation. 1492, at the time of the Gico expulsion, when the Jews were expelled from Spain. The expulsion is estimated to be 180,000 people. Convert to Catholicism or leave.
We must not harbor the mentality of fitting the church into our lives because it is supposed to be our life. We are blessed to see all these things because Jesus is about to come back; we cannot view this as old news. Or they have been saying this for 2,000 years.
Luke 21 says: “Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
