Bordering on the Absurd.
I was reading an investment piece today that totally derailed my concentration and my thinking. I had no intent to stop and write but I felt compelled.
On Tuesday, November 2, 2021 – Russian novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn had this to say. “Modern society is hypnotized by socialism. It is prevented by socialism from seeing the mortal danger it is in. And one of the greatest dangers of all is that you have lost all sense of danger, you cannot even see where it’s coming from as it moves swiftly towards you”.
That spoke to me of sin and the 21st-century culture. We have lost our sense of the danger of sin, compromise, anger, moral depravity, porn, divorce, disrespect for authority. It’s not even that it is coming so fast we can’t see it. It’s we are so dumbed down by the premise that everyone is doing it, that it doesn’t matter anymore, so we cease to see it running over us
and most of us have ceased to care.
2 Peter 2:20-22 “For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them”.
What the proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”
Does it not seem everything has gone backward? Even our lifelong enemies are mocking us.
Read Vladimir Putin’s recent analysis:
“Someone in the Western countries is convinced that the aggressive erasure of whole pages of their own history – the “reverse discrimination” of the majority in favor of minorities, or the demand to abandon the usual understanding of such basic things as mother, father, family or even the difference between the sexes – that these are, in their opinion, milestones of the movement toward social renewal”.
He goes on to say that; “The battle for equal rights and against discrimination is being turned into aggressive dogmatism bordering on the absurd, when the great authors of the past – such as Shakespeare, are no longer taught in schools and universities because they and their ideas are seen as backward. The classics are considered backward for their failure to understand the importance of the questions of race or gender.”
I look at Christians today that are accepting a watered-down gospel of Name it and Claim it. That God only wants to bless his children and there is no judgment or wrath from God. We accept and go along with our culture because we have been lulled to sleep as our children are brain feed …. What exactly? I don’t know but it doesn’t lift up the love of Christ. What has happened to Americans when parents have lost control of what is happening and
being taught in our schools?
But we look on paralyzed to do anything.
What can one do? Who can stand up to the evil and ugly giants that threaten our lives and businesses?
Hebrews 6:4-6 “For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt”.
Yes, I know that we have real differences in our country today but where are God’s standards of right and wrong? Man does as he pleases and if we don’t accept the others’ right to be them then we become some kind of phobic.

There are great divides today and there should be great debates as in the days of old about: vaccinations, climate change, historic monuments… black or white, gay or straight, male or female, defunding the police, Republican or Democrat. What has happened to the tenets and civility this nation was built upon?
Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death”.
Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear”.
Joshua 23:12-13 “For if you turn back and cling to the remnant of these nations remaining among you and make marriages with them, so that you associate with them and they with you, know for certain that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations before you, but they shall be a snare and a trap for you, a whip on your sides and thorns in your eyes until you perish from off this good ground that the LORD your God has given you.”
God promises in Romans 11 that he will keep safe a remnant of his people. The Anchor Bible Dictionary describes it as “What is left of a community after it undergoes a catastrophe”. I think we are in a perfect storm today.
If there was ever a time to remember…this is it. Pray my brothers and sisters for the time is near. The greatest power we can know is on our knees, for the courage to stand, for our family, state, our nations, and the lost.
2 Chronicles 7:14 –
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear”.
