Evil Triumphs When Good Men do Nothing!
More than 200 years ago Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” He was right. What does that mean to me spiritually and how might that impact my family?
Every morning if we could see in the spirit we would see the Holy Spirit sitting at the foot of our beds waiting for us to wake up. Waiting to be acknowledged. Waiting to be invited into our days and decisions. Good morning Lord. I am excited to see you today. I’m excited that you are the lamp to my feet (Ps 119: 105) …that you are here to guide and protect me as I begin my day. Join me today. Walk and talk with me about every decision I make. (James 4:8)
Give me the wisdom to speak "your life" into the challenges of the day.
How often do we enter our days, the workplace…naked and unprepared? “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”
Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11;6 I have not asked of you sacrifice but obedience. 1 Sam 15:22 ACTION.
Asking the Holy Spirit into our daily lives as we start our day… is doing something. Having faith that he will walk with you is doing something. God’s word calling us to obedience is the true north, urging us onward to be responsible and committed to following God in our actions.
The alternative is to do what too many of us do. Nothing. We have ceased to see or realize that we are the covering for our households and for our families. What exactly are you building and who are you building these material things for?

A Song of Ascents, of Solomon.
Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman keeps awake in vain.
We are the hedge around them. "Does Job fear God for nothing?…Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has?" (verses 9–10 What exactly is the banner over them that we are waiving? Until we see…really see, the severity of the attacks…until we see that the influences of the world are truly unrelenting and changing us and our families…we will continue in our all-consuming quest to pay the bills and save for a vacation or that new car without the solemn regard that we are first and foremost the protectors of our households…of our faith and for our hope, for my eternal future and theirs.
We must take a morning stand to pray and ask God into our lives. Into our problems. Meaning, we must have the mentality of a warrior who must win this battle. It is life and death spiritually for us and our loved ones. If the Holy Spirit is not leading… If you have not invited him in, then you are following something else…somebody else. The path leads to the cross. Paul says to take every thought captive… to christ. 1 Cor 10:5
I am encouraging you to join hands with me to do that something that really matters. Invite the Holy Spirit into your day. Put on the whole armor of God. Eph 6:10 Take the sword of the spirit, the only offensive weapon
