IN DEFENSE OF FAMILY!
Did you know that you are the front-line defense for your family,
children, marriage, and finances? I am sure that you must know that. But
may I ask what does that defense look like? What is the battle plan? We
know we are in a fight but isn’t it amazing that the fervor or the
planning we put into this critical position is one that might be
embarrassing to explain or defend?.
Have you sensed this lulling of our actions and attitudes when it
comes to putting our foot down spiritually? When was the last time you
said … You’ve had enough!” NO MORE!
This isn’t to shame or condemn you by any means but only to get you
to think! Think about these treasures that are entrusted to you. God
specifically gave them to you to protect, to guard, to grow, to raise
them up in the joy and image of Christ himself. That is an ongoing,
critically intentional act. It demands preparation. A game plan complete
with the enlistment of the family into the vision and calling of God
himself.
Yes, there will be a test. There is accountability. There are
repercussions. There is weeping and gnashing of teeth out there. We must
proclaim our position. We must shout out our declarations to the
darkness who’s only mission is to destroy you and your family. “In Jesus
Name”.
Our defense is a weapon in the hands of God’s children.
Sometimes we get an insulting belt alongside the head. Other times
it’s a warning shot across the bow. But too often it is the subliminal
positioning of our thoughts and attitudes towards a host of things. What
we watch. What we say. What we allow within our family for the sake of
peace and quiet. What we perpetuate by our actions.
All of these things are the life or death of a healthy
spiritually growing family.
A healthy growing leader, man or woman, teenager or
youngster.
Please don’t take this as a scolding but as a friend asking you to
take a look in the mirror? Would you examine the fruit of your life in
this area? Your defense plan. Your training program for you and yours.
Take an honest look and while you are assessing your defenses assess
your treasures. When we do that it has a way of impacting our vision,
our motivation, and the urgency to make a change and raise the banner
that you are making a stand to actually defend.
The Bible is full of awakenings. Full of second
chances.
Full of repenting and rededication to move back under the covering
of the Almighty and the umbrella of his protection.
My brothers and sisters, we all have times of reassessment, times of
redirection. Times of repenting of lukewarmness caused by the
distractions of life.
BUT GOD…is unrelenting…he sends us reminders… urgings… a hunger for
him, that can’t be denied.
It is his Holy Spirit pursuing you. His promise to never leave or
forsake you. Are you listening? He will NOT let you go nor let you be
lulled into complacency of not having a real plan to defend your
treasures. Maybe this is a wake-up call to some of us. His love is far
and above anything, we can wish or imagine. Thank you, Lord, for your
unfailing pursuit. Help me Lord be worthy and accountable of the trust
you have given us to be the guardians and defenders of our most prized
treasures.
