IN YOUR CRUCIBLE REMEMBER GOD’S PROMISES
Genesis 9:14-16
It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the cloud, then I will look upon it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
The rainbow is a tell that God will remember us and his promise. What is your tell? When the roof falls in. When calamity is spelled in capital letters, what is your tell to remember God’s promises to you?
I have kept a journal for years but if we do not periodically go back to visit our victories, they become ink on a page. They are forgotten as we sit in this pool of tears feeling defeated and alone. So I ask you today. “Where does your hope come from?”
Seriously, this is not a bible study. This is really in the trenches reality! Where does your hope come from? Let’s look at “The Book” We occasionally recall a piece of a verse and try to hang on for dear life, but let's look deeper.
Romans 15:13-15. "Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken." "That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe."
WOW when was the last time you read this as you lay in a heap on the floor or slumped down in the despair of a sudden attack or crucible?
I wish I could read this with the proper inflection so you could hear the impact and the power of his guiding truth. Turn the volume up and hear the chorus!
YES, my soul! FIND REST IN GOD…MY HOPE COME FROM HIM.
(not in what you see or feel or someone is telling you) TRULY, TRULY…TRULY, He is my Rock! And my Salvation! (are you listening? These are not just words, they should be life to you. A billboard for faith and encouragement for you! What are you thinking? Who and what do you choose to believe?)
HE IS MY FORTRESS! (Can you see the image of that in your mind?
Let it drift to your soul. YES, My Soul! I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN!
I WILL NOT!!!
I will step out of myself…my fears and anxieties and step into the unseen but real stratosphere of faith. The very essence of things hoped for…
(are you listening) The EVIDENCE of what is not seen… YET!
The EVIDENCE of what is not seen. We need to step into the same supernatural power that came on us in the moment of our rebirth.
God’s Grace. God’s Power. God’s promise.
Why? “Because we have put our hope in a living God!” OUR SAVIOR!
Psalm 111:5 He has given food to those who fear Him; He will remember His covenant forever.
Deuteronomy 6:20-23
“When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What do the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments mean which the Lord our God commanded you?’ then you shall say to your son, ‘We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and the Lord brought us from Egypt with a mighty hand.
2 Peter 3:9 Amplified
The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Isaiah 49:15-16
“Can a woman forget her nursing child
And have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
“Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.
Whatever your crucible today. Whatever your cry is unto the Lord. He has heard you. These are his promises. His Tell! What will you believe?
Who will you believe? What will you press into? Will you press further down into the doldrums’ of despair and defeat?
Or will you SCREAM OUT AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS.

I wrote this for myself today. This is where the Lord led me in my initial despair and fear. He led me to remember. Remember the rainbow. Remember his past promises and that he is the same yesterday today and forever.
