Is our Spirit contaminated when we sin?

Second Corinthians 5:17–18 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”
When we were saved, each of us became a new creation. The spirit on the inside was changed. But the scripture doesn’t say anything about changing our physical body. If you were overweight before you were saved you will still be overweight afterward. Your spirit is the part of you that was changed.
Ezekiel 36:26 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh”.
Corinthians 5:21 “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
Ephesians 4:24 “and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”
We are a new spirit made righteous and holy. There is no sin in our spirit. Jesus became sin for us so that we might be made the righteousness of God. Meaning, we have the total righteousness of God in our spirit. Our spirits are just as complete and perfect within us right this moment as they will ever be throughout all of eternity.
I think that’s hard for a lot of people to wrap their heads around. When I sin against God how can it not defile the spirit within me?
Listen, my brethren, we are NOT going to get new spirits when we go to be with the Lord. We’re going to get new, glorified bodies, and our souls will be totally changed so they will know all things. In this life, our bodies have a tendency toward sinning and our minds will always need to be renewed. But our spirits within us, right this moment, contain the Holy Spirit who lives in our hearts.
1 John 4:17 “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.”
As he is, so are we in this world. It is not so are we going to be, but so are we now! This is obviously not speaking of our bodies or our minds, but our spirits. Our spirits are totally God‘s workmanship. They are clean and pure. And if we sin, our spirits are never contaminated because it’s not our spirits that sin. 1 John 3:9 “Whowever is born of God does not commit sin: for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sing, because he is born of God”.
But I sin every day… (Let’s talk about that.).
Here’s the bottom line. The spirit is the only part of us that is born of God – and it cannot sin. It does not sin. It is the seed of God within us. We have never sinned with our spirit man. We’re enticed in the realm of the flesh, and our emotions and our mind may get into sin because our will chooses it.
But our spirits are not participating in sin.
Our spirits are the only part of our redemption that is complete now. Hebrews 10: 10–12 “By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 but this Man, after He/Jesus had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God”, Once and for all.
Hebrews 10:14 “For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy”.
Here is the bottom line. If our spirits are perfected forever, at all times, and in all situations through eternity, God can look at us and love us even if we’ve sinned and fallen short in the natural. Why? Because Jesus gave us a new spirit, holy and righteous because of Jesus. His spirit is within us, His blood is covering all our sins today and forever. That is what God sees and that allows God to walk with us and talk with each of us personally. When he said in 1 John 3:9 “that whoever is born of God cannot commit sin”, it meant he is addressing our spirit man. Not our natural-born souls and minds.
