Fearlessly Courageous

Pastor Dale Brooks is with Jesus. His last breath here was his first breath there!
I was truly shocked when I received the news last night about Pastor Brooks passing into eternity! My cry was: Lord I know his last breath here was his first breath with you Lord help me celebrate that! I know it’s where he wanted to be, and I was caught in that spot of celebrating his coming face-to-face with Father and losing one of my dearest friends and mentors. I was crying for my loss but rejoicing for his gain. Yes, he was in the best place imaginable, but my heart was breaking.
But so many people were praying for him, thousands…how can we be here?
I believe this because his work was done here for God. I could almost hear him say: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’ Matt 25:21 His brother C.L told me last night that he was shocked it came so fast but he was convinced that when he saw the face of God, he twisted the throttle on his motorcycle and he was gone! I laughed because I could see Pastor doing just that. Jesus didn’t call him home a second too early or too late. He has a plan for Dale just as he has a plan for each of us he left behind. Those seeds Pastor left behind are fully germinated, ripe, and fertile, carrying on the message Pastor has always preached.
When Jesus died on the cross, it was an apparent great victory for Satan…but it was not so. It was truly the beginning of a new covenant because he would defeat death by rising from the dead for you and me and Pastor Dale, 1 Cor 15:55 says, “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”. Jesus had accomplished all to God's satisfaction and so did Pastor Dale.
This is not a Eulogy today but a warm thank you for all your prayers and spiritual support for Mama Kaye Brooks and the family. God’s will has been done.
I would like to close today with what happened to me Sunday night as the family was surrounding Pastor. My family was in Orlando at the Grand Floridian Hotel to see the lights Sunday night. We were sitting in waiting for a bus, in a sizable group…and I had this urge to write…Dale has been so on my heart through this time, and I felt this urgency to write what I was sensing. It was just after 6 pm
The Mountaintop
Sometimes I think our journeys in the valley of the shadow of death…In our grief, and our struggle, in our seemingly alone time, I think we lose the tapestry of self-sufficiency and press into a holy place as we die to some of those hidden closets… the Holy Spirit just shows up in such a mighty way
I think there is a sacred place there,,, a Holy of Holies… that fear, despair or anxiety over the future is expelled because of the nearness and the brightness of his Holy Spirit. I believe it’s a love so pure that you have the envisionment of the future… an illumination of heaven. That peace that passes all understanding that I can sense with assuredness.
It’s almost like there is this bright signpost with two archangels guarding the entrance to the eternal city of hope. I can see the address book to unite with my Dad and Mom and the many I have only dreamt of uniting with again… A spirit-led assurance that I will see them again soon.
And our bus arrived…
I received the call a few hours later.
We have a choice today. To rejoice AND to mourn with others. God gives us the compassion to do both. Jesus knows each day we will have the choice to both rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. Ask Jesus today to fill you with both joy and compassion. Allow Him to fill you up so that you can bless someone else in their need today. Please pray for Pastor's family. I will let you know when services are scheduled.
