Sunday Prophecy and Pastor Dale Brook’s Cancer Update.
“Out of the blue of the Eastern sky I bring change. Sometimes quietly but often it comes loudly — disrupting — it may shake you and your faith. It can be unexpected, unplanned and inconvenient. Don’t be so quick to dismiss it as an attack. Discipline and strength come through perseverance.
Look to me… look for me in it. For those who hold true to me in the trail, to my ways of responding, not reacting —there — you will find my blessing as a diamond in the rough. For I prepare a table for you in the midst of your trials. See me — act like me. Receive the power and the blessing of my Holy Spirit! Stay focused in the storm. Keep your eyes on me. Press in – Persevere – I know it’s hard. It’s supposed to be. It will build your faith and stamina. I have greater things for you to do for me but I need you seasoned, mature and wise through experience. Do not grow weary in the fight. The flesh is weak and it wars for its own comfort. But choose me…for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Persevere, Press in. Go ahead and fall. But let it be to your knees. It is I who will give you strength. Stay focused”
Pastor Dale finished his radiation in May. At the beginning of June he will go in for his next Chemotherapy treatments and at the end of June they will do another Pet Scan and prayerfully determine whether this cancer season is over. He has been exercising and keeping his body strong for the journey and is actually feeling well. We are believing with you that his miracle is just one step away for the 2nd and final time. I spoke with Mama Kaye and they so appreciate your prayers and faith and asks that we continue in this battle with them. Thank you so much for all your love and support.
As I re-read the Sunday Prophecy I see Jesus coming again, as promised out of the eastern sky. I think of the disruption this cancer has brought to this lifetime pastor of God, Dale Brooks. One part of this prophecy really got my attention. “don’t be so quick to dismiss this as an attack” Honestly for many people I believe God allows suffering so we will be better equipped to help others in their times of need. There are surely a lot of reasons. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. states: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too”
In Pastor Dale’s case, I feel he is under attack. I know the first time he went through this we as a body of people walked with him week after week and he was a tremendous example of faith and transparency to all of us. That included many who were walking the same road and many who had friends and family who were fighting cancer. He has ministered to so many over all these years because of that walk through the valley of death.
I can’t begin to tell you God’s sovereign reasoning for Pastor or any of you enduring. But CS Lewis said: “We can ignore even pleasure.
But pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains:
it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”
Nothing, absolutely nothing increases our passion to seek out a Holy God more than pain. And when we do, we find a loving father with open arms of comfort and love and in that moment you WILL find more joy and more satisfaction in the Lord than the suffering you have endured. I guarantee you will deepen your relationship with Jesus himself. Pastor has “stayed focused in his storm” as an example to all of us. God will “build your stamina and faith”, why? Because He has a plan! “He has greater things for Pastor and YOU to do!” He knows our flesh is weak but he says to persevere, to endure, and tells us honestly…it will be hard but He will strengthen you.
Romans 5:3-5, “we are taught that through seasons of suffering, God will produce in us endurance, character, and hope which will then enhance our ability to enjoy the love of God which the Holy Spirit has placed within our hearts”.
He says to “Press in- fall to your knees in prayer… and trust God…for his promise is strength and victory” It ceases to be about the Why as He leads us to focus on the Who…Your loving father and his promise to bless you beyond your pain for His ultimate greater glory.
Will you not stop and pray with me one hours this week with your family for Pastor and those who are suffering emotionally or physically?
