Sundays Prophesy – God will prune us!
“Bow before me in reverence to your King and Savior. My glory fills my house and my people. My calling is without repentance. My Grace is sufficient to see you through the course. Stop to worship – cease your striving and worship your King of Kings. Cry out…Abba father…Daddy. Invite me into the secret corredor’s and locked doors – do not fear – I already know your secrets.
I have seen your shame – at its worst. But mine is the grace of forgiveness, mine is the love of restoration.
There’s much to do and you are part of the army I have called, as a priesthood and I must purge and prune those areas of darkness you protect an hold sacred. But I will be glorified in you. Your sin cannot remain in the light of my presence. So bow down – worship – take me in. Give me complete control and let my light defeat the darkness within you”
Sin causes man to constantly seek to insert himself into the work of God and salvation, so every generation has to be reminded of their complete dependence upon him and his perfect freedom to do what he sees best. That includes pruning and shaping us into his image.
Since all of us in America do not bow to a King, we naturally see little reason why we should bow to God. Its not natural but then again God is spirit.
God has a plan and each of us are personally in it. Interestingly many believe in the sovereignty of God. Yet when pressured to believe consistently that God can truly do as he pleases without getting permission from anyone, including man, we discovered that many who in fact confess such a belief in practice deny it.
Psalm 135:6 “Whenever the Lord pleases, he does,
in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.”
“For the Lord of host has a plan, and who can frustrated it? And as for his out stretched hand, who can turn it back?’ Isaiah 14:27
Each of us are being re-fastened and pruned for the work of the father. He puts his spirit in us and changes our heart from stone to one of flesh so that we want to serve and we choose to be used by God of our own free will.
This concept is brought out with striking clarity in the analogy of the potter and the clay. Jeremiah 18:4–6 “4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
5 Then the word of the Lord came to me. 6 He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.”
Just as the nation Israel was the clay in the potters hand so are we. Clay has no inherent rights, no basis upon which to complain about the potters decisions. No say in what the potter does. That gulf that separates the created from the creator is highlighted in these words from Isaiah 29:16 ‘You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay! … Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, “You did not make me”?
Can the pot say to the potter, he knows nothing?
Think about that. The very idea of what is formed, speaking to the one who formed it is supposed to strike within us the absurdity of man. The creature, thinking that God is to be thought of as existing on the same plane, the same level, as man. When mans every thought of God should be marked with reverential awe, with true fear of the one who formed us and gives us every breath we take.
The sheer stupidity of man arguing with his maker comes up yet again a little later in Isaiah 45:9
‘Now to the one who quarrels with his maker – an earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth! Will the Clay say to the potter, what are you doing? Or the thing you are making say, he has no hands?’
God will purge us. He will shape us into the vessel of his making. Scripture is very clear there can be no clash of will between the potter and the pots. It is God who is the determiner of our faith and our destiny. So why should it be so hard for us to give up those secret compartments and give ourselves completely over to his Holy Spirit,? Isaiah 64:8 ‘but now oh Lord, you are our father, we are the clay, and you our Potter: all of us are the work of your hand.”
Lord do your work in me so my dreams and visions line up with your will and your perfect design. Lord I can’t do this without you and ask you to make the changes necessary that your will be done in my life to your glory. .
