The Armor Is – A Call to Action!

If the war is already won and Christ has given us everything we need for battle, why don’t more Christians experience spiritual victory? Be honest: when you think about your spiritual battles,
do you often feel frustrated—or victorious?
Why do you think that is?

Too often, the enemy gains ground in our lives because we fail to stand firm in our identity in Christ. We give away power that isn’t his to take. Colossians 1:17 reminds us, “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” If your life feels like it’s falling apart, the issue isn’t God’s power—it’s whether you are firmly remaining in union with Christ, under His headship.

When Christ died, we died with Him. When Christ rose, we rose with Him. And when He was seated at the right hand of the Father, we were seated with Him (Ephesians 2:6). Victory is not something we strive for—it’s something we step into because of our union with Him.

Dressed for Battle

God has already given you everything you need to see His victory manifested in your life. The equipment is in your hands. The question is—will you put it on?

Ephesians 6:14-17 outlines the full armor of God. Just as you would never leave home half-dressed, God doesn’t want you walking into spiritual battles unprepared.

Three pieces are to be worn at all times—

  • The Belt of Truth
  • The Breastplate of Righteousness
  • The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace

These are your constant covering. Never take them off.

The other three pieces are to be taken up when needed:

  • The Shield of Faith
  • The Helmet of Salvation
  • The Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God

Why are some always worn and others “taken up”?
Because God equips us for both constant readiness and situational warfare.

God’s Armor—Not Yours

Isaiah 59:15-17 reveals something remarkable: the armor is first worn by God Himself. He put on righteousness and salvation to accomplish what no man could do. That means when you put on the armor of God, you aren’t just grabbing tools—you’re clothing yourself in Christ Himself. You are relying not on your strength, but on His victory already won.

JD Peabody said it well: “We are choosing to stay small and rely solely on His efforts for our defense.”

But here’s the truth: God will not dress you. He provides the armor,
but the responsibility of putting it on belongs to you.

Call to Action

The battle lines are drawn. Satan wants you distracted, defeated, and disarmed. But Christ has already secured the victory. The only question left is:
Will you stand firm in His strength or stumble in your own?

So today—strap on truth. Guard your heart with righteousness. Step forward in the peace of the Gospel. Lift high your shield of faith. Protect your mind with salvation.
And wield the Word of God like the sword it is.

Because when you put on the full armor of God—you are unstoppable.

Lord, open our eyes to see the armor You have given us. Give us courage to stand firm, faith to lift our shield, and wisdom to wield Your Word with power. Remind us that You are the one who holds all things together. If You are for us, who can stand against us? In Jesus’ name, Amen.
