Who Saved your life? Who are you living for?
I saw the end of a movie and they asked him how his friends died and he said: “Saving my life!”. And I got to thinking of the many friends that I have had over the years that saved my life by living. In feeding into me, giving in to me, living in front of me. I can honestly say that they saved my life.
Sometimes we get a chance to start over. That’s what being born again is all about. It’s about getting a second or third chance to start a new life and the impact that you have by living and demonstrating the love of Christ in your life. The character and grace, the forgiveness and compassion in your life.
It changes you and changes others.
Your living can literally save their lives.
Your life is no small thing whether or not you regard it so or not. It is impactful, it does change lives Good or bad. And you are the only one that will ever make that decision. But as long as you believe that your life doesn’t matter, it won’t.
You’re reading this today because someone seeded, and watered into your life. You are no accident. Someone paid for your life in blood. They sought you out. They pursued you to save you. Intercessors prayed for you, maybe from Uganda or Russia. People that were called in the spirit to build a hedge around you in your darkest moments although they never knew your name.
But God did. He formed you and made you in your mother’s womb for a purpose and for a life.
So I am certain that it would be incredibly and indelibly etched in my soul if someone died to save my life in the natural … But when we understand that life is eternal…That we must be born again of spirit to understand and live and dream and worship a living spirit God… that someone did literally give their life to save you so that you could live! What does that mean?
What is the depth of that? Jesus Saved Me.
We have said it so many times it just doesn’t seem to carry the weight that it should. We have become so nonchalant, so casual about its true meaning and if you think about it it is true blasphemy. It’s throwing a thumb up in the face of God Almighty. This is so much more disrespectful than robbing him of our tithe and offerings. If we cannot be broken over that…how cold are we…How lukewarm are we?
We are so busy today, we don’t have any margins, everything we do is about squeezing one more thing in, there’s just no room at the inn for thinking on things that are truly eternal and knowing the truth of Christ crucified for us personally.
We watched a hero save the innocent or even save the guilty and we are moved by their empathy, their kindness and it motivates us in our life to do more, to live larger, to make a difference in the lives of others. People will applaud you and celebrate you. But what does one gain if they gain the whole world but lose their very soul? Has that become too melodramatic in this current world? Is that too non-inclusive? Too extreme and fanatical?
Your life matters to God you are on earth to serve God’s purpose, not yours.
WHO ARE YOU LIVING FOR…TODAY?
Would you pray for an hour this week about who you are living for? What is the fruit of that living? Maybe it’s time we revisit the Throne Room.
