THE POTTERS HOUSE PART IV STAY ON THE WHEEL!
Jeremiah 18:1 "This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” 3 So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him".
Go to the Potters House and you WILL hear my voice. He said HE will cause you to hear his voice. He takes on the responsibility. If you will come to the potter's house and stay on the wheel. His promise is to be there for you.
What a hope-filled scripture. What a faith-building promise.
But it says, if you will humble yourself I will exalt you in due season. But so many people have trouble getting to that season because they have trouble humbling themselves. They have trouble staying on that wheel and asking God to change me oh Lord. Less of me and more of you. John 3:30 The cry is: Stay on the wheel UNTIL a "New You" emerges. That’s God's responsibility to change you or your spouse or your children. But you must humble yourself and stay on the Wheel.
it is not necessarily this great spirit of travail but it’s an openness in your heart to allow the Holy Spirit to change you. It’s the attitude of seeking that change. Seeking that next level causes you to look more like Jesus Christ.
But oftentimes we get the spirit of denial. Lord, you know that I have already changed. Like somehow we have arrived. But growing in Christ is often like peeling an onion as we continue to lay off those layers of self, getting to the inner heart.
Paul spoke very clearly of the renewing of our mind. God doesn’t always work instantaneously. It takes time to change. It took years for children to grow. It takes us a lifetime to continue on the wheel to have the openness to allow the Lord to do his work by the power of his Holy Spirit.
Prayer is the language of God
So stop being so hard on yourself. Please stop being so hard on other people. It takes time in the supernatural, it takes time in the natural. The timing is the Lord's it’s not yours. Stay on the wheel.
I’m not talking about condemnation. But you can either deny these things in you that need changing or you can get on the wheel!
There is a very big difference between someone who covers up
and a person who fesses up!
Some of you have not had the most exciting few years. There’s been trouble, and drama, and hard times. But I’m also telling you that many of you HAVE been on the wheel. And it has been a time of purification and for some a road to deliverance. You may have not liked it, but when you’re finished you’re going to be a vessel ready for the master's use.
Hallelujah, can I get an amen?
So going forward, no matter whether it’s good or bad, happy or sad, I’ve decided I’m staying on the wheel in the potter's house. What finer moment can there be to be the clay in the potter's hands? Because he only wants the best for me and you! He wants to make us into the image of his Son Christ Jesus our Lord
That is truly what it is. We get to the place where we decide we’re not backing up anymore. We’re not taking any more of Satan’s shenanigans. We’re staying on the wheel and we are pressing through to be that holy vessel that God has called us to be. And whatever he has to trim off to get us there …
I’ve committed to staying on the wheel till it’s done. How about you?
Notice again the vessel that he was making was marred. You must know that if a defect is left within the vessel when it hardens it weakens the vessel, so it will more easily break. But when the potter finds that defect, he has to crush it all back down again and rework the water through it and rebuild it again. Are you listening? God himself works that defect out by the water of his word. Creating a vessel Holy to Himself and for his purpose.
When that happens the impurities come to the surface and have to be removed. Just like the dross that comes when the silver is heated. Those impurities must come out! Being on the wheel is not always a pleasant experience, but it is one that when finished will show forth the glory of God in you.
I believe that a person can live free of fear. Free of depression. Free of anger and unforgiveness. He says I offer a peace the world doesn’t know.
He won't hold you on that wheel one second too long. Truly.
