Fearlessly Courageous

EZ 22:29 “I sought for a man – I saw that there was a grievous breach made in the moral state and feelings of the people, and I sought for a man that would stand in the gap; that would faithfully exhort, reprove and counsel with all long-suffering and doctrine. But none was to be found!”

In reviewing the story of Ezekiel and the wall I was uncertain if it was a literal wall or a personal one he spoke of, referring to their stand and their witness as a wall of faith and obedience.

Neglect – Ezekiel 3:5 “Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord.” The wall was in disrepair. It had been neglected to allow for great gaps in the wall.

America never had a literal wall but a spiritual one that now sits in shambles of neglect and sin and most of us know it. We live in a time when powerful interests want to rewrite our history and undermine our Constitution—including the First Amendment and our freedom of religion, expression, assembly and the right to petition, and the Second Amendment and our right to bear arms.

We must stand strong in defense of American liberty and values.

Someone must stand in the gap and be a watchman.

The time is past expecting someone else will do it!

But it appears no one cares enough to do something today.

Today the foundations of our faith are under attack. Conservatives and Christians are afraid to take a stand for God’s truth. We had a man that wanted to build a wall to protect our borders but before it was done it was stopped by the new king. The foundation of our families is in peril. Many of Our children are not following our ways of faith because of the intense pressure to be all-inclusive with our beliefs and the belief that there is only one way to heaven is too extreme. That is not an inclusive statement, it’s too radical and so not for our modern times. But too many are falling away from their faith.

EZ 13: 10) – “Because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace, and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter, whitewashed it!”: I take that to mean it wasn’t built properly. People whitewashed over the truth of integrity and character as God’s instruction manual lays out. Faith used to be something people died for, not something to whitewash or watered down so it’s more acceptable There are still many places in the world when men women, and children are beheaded for their faith. Yes, just their faith, but they chose to die rather than whitewash the truth.

2 Tim.4:3-4 – For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; [4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

We all have some kind of idol we have given ground and depth to in our lives. But the Lord is faithful. He has given us a warning that now is the time to be “that watchman”, to be obedient. To not expect someone else to fill in the gap.

Will that be you this week? To pray and even more, to call your family together to pray together. Anoint your home with oil! Humble yourself before God and your family and let them see the power of the Holy Spirit work in you, your family, and in our land. The call begins with Obedience!
