Has God Really Said? The First Question That Changed Everything. Part I
Did you know the first recorded words Satan ever spoke to humanity weren’t a lie, a threat, or a temptation? They were a question.
Not “God isn’t real.”
Not “You don’t need God.”
But — “Has God indeed said?” (Genesis 3:1)
Isn’t that the same whisper echoing today? My wife always says I ask too many questions. And that is exactly what I want to do today. So let me ask you some tough questions that you must answer!
“Has God really said there is absolute truth?”
“Has God really said He created us?”
“Has God really said male and female?”
“Has God really said marriage matters?”
“Has God really said His Word is final?”
Satan’s strategy is subtle… If he can get us to question God’s Word, he can eventually get us to replace God’s Word.
When Jesus was asked about the last days, His first warning wasn’t wars, earthquakes, famine, or persecution. It was:
“Take heed that no one deceives you.” — Matthew 24:4
Not the world’s deception… but deception creeping into the Church, our homes, and our hearts. Have you noticed there is no Hell, Fire, and Brimstone Anymore? Doesn’t it seem like everything we typically hear is about a Forgiving God, A God of Grace, A Gospel of Abundance and Prosperity. You tell me…
So, can I talk about 3 things today that I want you to decide about.
1. The Deception of Redefining Truth –
We live in a culture that says:
- “Live your truth.”
- “Truth is what I feel.”
- “What’s true for you may not be true for me.”
But if truth changes — it was never truth! Is that true?
Paul warned us: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine… and will turn away from the truth.” — 2 Timothy 4:3–4
When truth becomes flexible, faith becomes fragile.
Truth is not discovered by feelings
Truth is revealed by God.
You have to decide if this is true. You must decide whether this is the foundation of truth you will lay at home. The river of life flows…it has a current. If you do nothing you and your kids will get carried away in the current and cultural truths of mankind. You decide whether we are gaining ground with our families or not.

2. Lets Talk About the Deception of Redefining Creation
Genesis doesn’t begin with a suggestion … it begins with a foundation:
“In the beginning, God created.”— Genesis 1:1
If we remove the Creator…we remove accountability, identity, purpose, and morality.
Is that truth? You must decide and you must live that by what you say and teach others!
You are not an accident.
You are not random.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14) Do you believe that?
3. What About the Deception of Redefining Identity
Genesis declares: “Male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27
It’s Not political.
Not cultural.
Not personal preference.
But God’s Divine design.
You must decide…Is that true or not? If it’s true you can’t keep it to yourself. Your faith cannot be silent for fear of being mocked or condemned.
We don’t mock those who struggle with God’s truth. .
We don’t reject or condemn them although they very well might condemn you.
But truth without love wounds, and love without truth deceives.
The church must be the one place where people encounter grace AND truth — the way Jesus delivered both.
We Must Learn Discernment and there Must be a Call for it.
Satan isn’t trying to remove the Bible from homes … he’s trying to remove confidence in the Bible from hearts. Do you see that?
If the enemy can get us to question, he can get us to compromise,
and eventually to conform and go with the current of the culture so we don’t make waves.
But Matthew 24:35 lays it out crystal clear: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Word will never pass away.” This is your anchor. Or is it? It can’t be an anchor if you don’t throw it out….Is that true?
God’s word is your compass.
This is your sword.
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
Discernment begins when we stop asking,
“What do I feel?” and start asking,
“What has God said?”
