Be Different – Be ready to Redeem the time to live life wisely.
Ephesian 15: 15-21 “Therefore see then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
God has called us to invest and or purchase every opportunity in how we walk. Paul often uses the word walk and live interchangeably. Walk your life, Live your life, not circumspectly but with full purpose…wise in your prayerfulness, planning, and purposefulness. Yes, Before God!
Do you perceive we have the luxury of coasting or drifting? Do you think living a passive life is walking circumspectly or as a wise man would? What causes us to act vs react in life? I sincerely believe that most people, most Christians live their life reacting to life. They are largely on automatic reacting to what the world throws at them. So many issues, health, car, college, investments, it’s like we are the rubber ball on the end of the paddle the kids play with…back and forth, try to hit the ball on the paddle.
How do you redeem the time? How do you purchase opportunities that present themselves? How does one look carefully…think progressively… without prayer and planning? How does one open up the eyes of our head and heart…both physically and spiritually looking and living your life with the banner of Christ held high, being on His mission for living and
stop letting life happen to you?
When we look at life and the opportunities to live life using the gifts of the spirits…living life wisely…Where does wisdom come from? Harvard? When we look in Ephesians 1 -7-16 we see the big picture of wisdom, the purpose of the universe, and why we are here. And when we live purposely, wisdom trickles down.. they say “All Wisdom”.
Being purposeful to God and walking wisely means taking time to pray…praying God will give you the spirit of Wisdom. (That is all Solomon asked for… and it was given to him.) He is not more special than us. We are to “Be careful how we walk/live”. Prayer and God’s word are our light for that. The lavish grace of wisdom comes as a result of prayer. We need to redeem the time Satan has stolen and it begins in prayer and planning our lives vs letting the world string us along as willing puppets at one level or another. Instead, we need to lead with our eyes bright with knowledge, discernment, and power of purpose. Not being reactive but proactive for our King.
In Galatians 6:10: Christ redeemed us to be a wise shrewd merchant and keep our eyes open for opportunity. “So as we have opportunity… let us do good to everyone.” “Look carefully how to walk and do not be unwise” Buy it when you see it. Invest in it when that opportunity shows itself.
Christ redeemed us to keep our eyes open for those special moments, a special something. We see them with the eyes of opportunity so when it comes… BAM…buy it. When YOU see the opportunity for doing good, loving people, being gracious, snatch it! Pull your money out and buy it.
Purchase opportunities as wise and a shrewd merchant.
Do not submit to consequences. Obey God. Plan with God. Pray to God. Be Different. You can disagree with the world and still stand for what you believe in scripturally. He gave us His spirit of might.
